So you are accepting friend requests from people you don't know?

No, but for the majority of facebook users this is true and for the past couple years it has been nearly impossible to keep random people from seeing your pics and whatnot. So I feel like they have opened it up like myspace was/is.

its not impossible at all to keep random people from seeing your pics. Just sayin

Sirry people. Go into your settings, when you go into photos and stuff, click the box that says "friends of friends cant see my pics" or whatever the setting is.

Unless you are tagging someone in your pictures, no one can see them unless you allow them to.

Myspace was never used as a tool in business, unless you count bands making their pages.

Everytime they change the interface your settings get reset true or untrue? I thought it was true.

untrue

If I gave u my name and u searched it online if I didnt block from random people seeing my pics u would be able to search me on google and find my facebook profile.

Right now nobody can see my profile online unless I want u to.

also if im a friend of your friend and u went to his facebook page and looked up his friends u would not be able to see me. I havent updated that settings in a year and its still like that.

Also, lets say Salty wants to see Boo's pictures. Salty can see all of Boos pictures that she has uploaded herself.

But, when he goes into tagged pictures, he is only going to be able to see pictures that either our mutual friends have posted (say Cat posted a pic of me and her, he would be able to see that b/c he is friends with both of us)

He would not be able to see a picture that my girlfriend he doesn't know posts of me if she has her settings set to "friends of friends" can't see her pics.

Fine. I have those settings set up as well, I just thought they auto reset whenever facebook when to a page style and if someone was not active their settings would reset without them knowing. But my facebook email address has been dead for 3 years so I wouldn't know if they send you notice or not.

This is what I was getting at. Over the years it seems like they try to find a way to get your info out there without you knowing. In what I like to call "the golden age" of facebook it seemed to be more private just because of the small size of it all...

No, you just need to be aware of settings and know that you need to change them if you don't want people seeing them

They do have the right, however, to take your information and use it for ads targeted towards your friends. Like, if you "liked" Coca-Cola, it would create an ad saying Try Coca Cola, boo likes it!
