My wife does a ton of screening and wonders why I just let everyone pretty much be my friend.

I tell her it's because there are people out there that probably would stalk you, something I'm not worried about someone doing to me

I don't get these people who try to describe themselves to me so I'll recognize them as friends, either they are senile as hell or they think I am. I see facebook as a place for people to brag about how wonderful their life is, how big their house is, blah, blah blah. They don't tell how junior got locked up over the weekend though.

You do know that when you ignore/deny their request....it doesn't tell them, right? It doesn't send them some message like "TheSaint hates you and refuses to be your friend"

So, unless you have people stalking you....they probably won't realize you didn't accept. Especially if it is someone you haven't seen in 10 years.

the only way anyone can tell is if they tried to friend u and like a week later they went back to your profile and it gives you the option again.

Sometimes I wonder when my friend count goes down if those people defriended me because being in the presence of someone as awesome as me makes them feel like less of a person or they just left facebook.

Not saying you're not a rad bro but they probably left facebook. If those friends have been on facebook since 05-06 they realize how it is not what it once was..(a myspace only for college students)

You're right on half of that. It was originally made for college students. I was a sophomore when it came out, and thought it was pretty damn cool until they started allowing everyone and their mother (yes, my mom is on there) to do it.

It wasn't meant to be like myspace though. Myspace to me was always something where some random weirdo in Arkansas would friend you and you would accept just b.c that was myspace, and part of the reason I didnt like it.

Facebook is more personal to me. Originally created to keep up with and communicate easily with your friends (aka people you actually know personally) If you friend me, and I don't know you, I just tell you to fug off.
