Brees says JR comments got blown out of proportion

Has anyone happened to notice Brees doesn't deny that it happened?

Brees is doing what is best for all parties. The day the reports came out Brees downplayed the events and the reports stated that Brees was doing the right thing trying to diffuse the situation. He really had no business saying anything that took place.

The problem is this. Why were Brees and Manning involved in the labor negotiations? Neither represent the players union and had no business "negotiating" anything. I don't believe they were there to negotiate, but to observe and ask questions.

The players and owners were not suppose to report ANYTHING from the negotiations to the media. The fact that Brees or any other attendees are addressing the exchange at all shows that they do not know the NLBR rules of negotiations. I haven't heard a word from Manning.

It's still very likely that JR was a complete ass. I'm sure he said exactly what was reported and acted they way it was reported.

Brees may have a thick skin and thought nothing of it. And he may be saying the right thing to diffuse the situation.

It really doesn't matter as these things happen in negotiations and there are always different personalities in the room. All i care about is JRs devotion to putting a product on the field that i can get behind come august. Not sure that is his primary goal right now.

Why would Drew Brees have any interest in protecting Jerry Richardson?

Heck, as the franchise QB of a division rival, Brees has more to gain by damaging the image of Richardson in the eyes of the players than Manning, Feeley or anyone else involved... and he says it didn't happen.

This is clearly an attempt at a smear campaign, kudos to Brees for being his own man and doing the right thing.

The owners, players and fans have a lot to lose if this turns ugly. Brees is smart and doing the right thing, diffusing the situation. Manning is more in the right, because he refuses to discuss it at all.

This information wasn't suppose to leak and it did. The owners and players involved in the current mediations will not make this same mistake, because if either side does, then the NLRB will find them guilty of dilatory tactics and in violation of the direct orders set forth by the NLRB during the CBA negotiations

Sometimes it is better to be the bigger person and defuse a situation, even when dealing with your enemy. Brees isn't protecting anyone nor would he try to damage anyone if he is a professional.

Jay Feeley could have been 100% accurate and Brees is sending the message of lets move on these aren't the things to be concerned about.

What Feeley did was tacky and unprofessional and Brees is calling him out on it.

Doesn't mean JR didn't act the way it was reported
