If Anthony says yes, the Nets will get Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Melvin Ely and Renaldo Balkman from the Nuggets. In turn, the Nets will send Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four first-round picks to Denver.

So he has to agree to a contract extension and it's a done deal.

Thoughts on the (potential) deal? Considering Melo is gone no matter what, I think Denver did the right thing by trading before it's too late.

4 FIRST ROUND PICKS?!

Hahaha Denver is practically set for life now. And I do not even see Carmelo resigning with them.

I honestly see the Nets doing this so they can increase revenue, and what have you. But as a long term plan. The Nets are getting raped.

Denver wins big here.

That's a very good deal for Denver. Get an all-star PG, a very nice PF, a nice expiring, and four first round picks for a player that is going to leave at year's end anyways.

The trade is off unless Melo signs the three year extension thus he would have to stay at NJ. Everything I am reading suggests that Melo does not really want to be in NJ (or anywhere else except NY) for three years.

I really don't know why New York doesn't just wait til the deadline then offer peanuts for Melo, we alll know he isn't signing with New Jersey, and only wants to play in New York. NY offering Gallinari or Fields, Curry's contractr, Felton is stupid

    • Canes in six what years?    I'll be shocked if they win one game not to get swept lol if you think that I urge you to go watch the press conference that's a team that's mentally beaten and has no answers.
    • Disagree that CB is a massive need.
    • This sentiment is really starting to bother me. Because, you are right. We do have one of the most well run organizations in the league. And, a lot of fans seem to think that Rod is that entire organization. This line of thinking completely discredits all of the hard work that GMs, scouts and players have put in to make the team what it has become. Not to mention the impact that the ownership change has had on the team. You will never hear me singing the praises of a billionaire. But, the fact is, we went from a cap floor team to a cap ceiling team under TD. Have we dramatically improved from the dark old days since Rod took over? Absolutely. But, he wasn't the only one contributing to that rise. And if he leaves, the house of cards isn't going to magically crumble. At this point, we've seen enough players leave and flourish (or come here and wither) to know that isn't true. The organization isn't one man. But, one man is responsible for setting lineups, line combos, d pairings and drawing up set plays. And, to me, that is what lost us these 2 games in embarrassing fashion. I don't believe that Florida is just some unbeatable juggernaut running roughshot over the league. Last I checked they didn't go 82-0. If you believe this is a personnel issue, by all means, bame the players, the scouts and the GMs. Blame everybody but RBA. If there was one player or position group to blame, I would tend to agree with you. When an entire team collapses, it's not on the players. It's on the leadership and they are the ones who should be held accountable.
