Clausen poised for improvement?

Mr. Scot

ya know, it is possible that next year, there could be a quarterback "worth taking" in the middle of the first. This year the only QBs there will be Locker and Mallett, and we don't have a pick there anyway. middle of the first QBs can still be franchise guys. so even if we are picking 14 next year, it's not like we can never get a good QB.

This is true. But how often do we get to draft our pick of the litter? Waiting on hand-me-downs(clausen) seems to be alot worse than drafting the potential best quarterback in the draft.

This whole "if Clausen sucks again we'll just get Luck" attitude is ridiculous. Most of our top players will be begging for release of their contracts because they want a WINNING TEAM. And we'll be left with a bigger mess than what we had to begin with.

Disagree, Fairley has questions but less than Newton and plays a less complicated position.

Lets compare....One year wonder just like Cam. Questionable work ethic. Questionable character and deem "dirty" by many players. Not to mention his relationship with his "big brother" jamarcus russell the biggest bust in NFL history.

He has just as many red flags as Cam. On top of that he is at position of less impact and higher bust rate.

Dirty tab isn't the same as a pay for play, or felony allegations. You're comparing apples to golf balls.

One year of production doesn't bother me since both are juniors.

Cam has to learn to be a NFL QB, starting with the basics of reading cvg, staying in the pocket, making more than just one read and has to be the face of the franchise.

Fairley will have to improve technique and hone his skills, he doesn't have to damn near relearn his position.

Friendship with Russell means nothing to me, Hell he could view him as a cautionary tale.

As for impact, a former DC turned HC who wants a strong front four that aggressive will have plenty of impact.
