Miller not tagged, just saw on ESPN. Raiders place franchise tag on a LB.

Wimbley - but I thought I saw that the Raiders were working on getting a long term deal for Miller sometime before the 3rd. Not tagging Miller could be a vote of confidence that a new deal will happen.

Looking at the contracts they've just doled out in Oakland, no doubt Al makes Miller the richest TE in football.

for a TE? Al Davis is going to overpay him. I mean Miller is really good TE, but why overpay the guy? Id rather draft one.

why? Miller is a great, proven TE with potential to be elite. better to overpay him and use the draft pick for someone else.

I hate it but when you win 2 games, you're going to have to overpay for some players. Miller is worth it.

I have a feeling that no one is worth the money Miller will be paid. and if there is a cap, overpaying a TE of all positions seems a bit nutty. I don't mind paying the man if its a lot, just not over paying him

We're expected to have money to spend and we'll be using an offense that works best with a dangerous TE.

Throw in that Rivera should know his abilities well from his time in the AFC West.

If he makes it to free agency, I'd absolutely spend to get him.

I really do think Miller is a target of ours - a big one, too. He fits Rivera's description of what he's looking for at TE perfectly and Rivera also got to play against him twice a year in SD and knows how good he is.

And more importantly, how good he could be with more consistent QB play in an offense that uses the TE more. God, I hope the CBA gets done so we can go after this guy ASAP.
