Really there is no one like Delhomme in the league as of now. All we could hope for is a stop gap player. Right now we have two options, Wait and see if Clausen develops in a year or draft a QB and see if either of them Develop. Yes you may waist a pick but it will be only one pick. Trading for a QB that might not work would cost us much more. Ask the Bears.

Did anyone know about Delhomme outside of NO when we picked him up? Not really. In NO Jake couldn't beat out a handful of AVERAGE starting QBs like Aaron Brooks or Billy Joe Toliver, let alone backing up a franchise guy. Hurney and Fox took a huge flier on Jake and he turned out well for us, uh... most of his stint here anyway.

So to say there's no "Jake" out there in this FA crop is a bit disingenuous. In other words, there's not a backup QB that can't beat out the incumbant. Actually, I say there's quite a few of them. Some of them have actually STARTED in this League too.
