All those free agents I listed were highly sought after when we signed them to big contracts. And if you are going to call our organization cheap, then you MUST look at the players we have re-signed to big contracts. You can't look at one side of the way we spend money without looking at the other.

Are you saying JR wasn't cheap this past year....and futhermore...are you a PSL owner? I'm admittedly not, because I live in Raleigh and choose not to spend that money/time doing it (small kids/sports). BUT, a lot of my friends are that live in the GSO area and some from Raleigh and I feel sorry for their investment into last year's season when we were second guessing JR's moves....then it was VERIFIED not only by JR's apology letter, but then again in the press conference.

Why are you all upset that this dude is calling JR cheap? This guy, Schefter, even JR admitted he was cheap. Are you all butt hurt because he called people in Charlotte dumb?

I've never even heard of this guy. Hell, we point out the lack of knowledge about the Panthers the 'big boys' at the major news outlets have, so some unknown isn't going to be a wealth of knoweldge about this team, let alone the community.

Seriously, JR is guilty of getting too close to his veteran players and overpaying them, if anything. I guess a lot of people have already forgotten that the man cried when Minter and Delhomme had their goodbye PC's.

Schefter insomuch said this back during the coach search. Name one high priced FA ever signed at Carolina. Not to say that's a good thing by the way.

Carolina has consistently overpaid free agents and overpaid guys whose contracts they extend. Those are facts. They aren't cheap. You can argue they aren't wise with how they spend (gamble, Jake, peppers, etc)........but when has Carolina ever been cheap excluding ONE

season?

Cromartie is actually the type guy Carolina has brought in before. A pretty good player who has peaked and is likely on the backside of his career

There is a difference in calling JR cheap.....and saying that he was frugal last season in the face of a lockout.

JR has consistently been one of the top spenders in the NFL. You are chosing to take one season and make a generalized statement.
