If this was up to Jerry there would be no season. He showed his hand in his presser saying he wasn't optimistic even before any negotiations. I'll prepare myself for no football next season. Thanks Jerry!

Oh, and IF we do pick #1 again look forward to no Luck. GO BOBCATS!

I still don't think a lock out is going to happen.

I think the NFL is going to put on the table it's last, best offer (it is debatable if the NLRB will allow this). Then the only option for the players would be to strike or re-enter negociations still allowing free agency, trades, mini camps, training camps, team meeting ect to continue like any other offseason.

While other might not agree, I really think this outcome truely is in the best interest of all parties. The owners get a better deal for the time being, all of the free agents get their new contracts, the networks will get quality games and the fans will get to see them. And there would still be a deadline in play, as the players would be able to strike at any point in time including the start of the season or what I think is an even better idea, two weeks before the playoffs.

I for one appreciate the fact that you shared this. I don't need others to tell me if it is news worthy or not. I want every scrap of news I can get on this thing.

A bit premature to say no season, however. Players will cave around the draft. Caving makes sense. The owners are holding the cards and are intent on showing unity. No cracking. There are about 500 players who will be hurt bad if there is a lockout. That is about a sixth of the labor force.

Agents telling players to save their money and plan for no football in 2011 makes economic sense for the agents. They don't want the players to cave, so they are walking them through the worst senerio and making sure they are prepared. It's pretty much their job to do that. They want the owners to give the players as much money as possible and they know that if the players are not prepared for a season long lockout, then they will start to cave.

Just smart business planning.

I see the owners losing their pants come September, so they will definately have to put some type of product on the field by then, the bigger question is will the TV contracts be satisfied with replacement players?

LOL if you see the owners caving then your sadly mistaken. For one they will still get 50% of there revenue. Number two most of them don't rely on the NFL as there sole income.

Thank you! apparently the only news people like is the news posted by Michael Lombardi... Not by a actual player who's closer to the game then anyone on here. I'm sure he has contact with big athletes on the Lions, and other agents.

As previoulsy discussed (I guess you chose to not pay attention again), the owners are covered next season in regards to the TV contracts. The networks have to pay next season whether there is football or not. This was one of the things that the players tried to sue the owners over....and lost mind you.

What if we won the super bowl with scabs, and then the CBA gets worked out, we have to cut all of our heroes. Would we hang a banner? Would they get rings? Would records count? Would you cheer and would you buy super bowl champion merchandise?

I am so befuddled.
