Sorry, did mean 1.2 billion - but by all means get caught up in the details instead of ignoring the point which is that JR turned 250 bucks into a billion dollar valued NFL franchise in a small market, which was directed at folks questioning JR's business acumen.

Not that it really even matters, but the story isn't about him taking $250 and making it into millions of dollars. It's about him turning down that much to play football and enter the private sector.

Okay, let me simplify this... he took a small sum of money and turned it into a billion dollar franchise, so he must have a decent amount of business acumen... right?

LOL, you are rich from playing football... therefore you must be able to break down a complex revenue statement.

Ya I feel a guy who made all his money through playing football, endorsements, sponsorships would never be able to understand a complex revenue statement.

He play football

He is da dumb

Not what I'm saying, just saying it's silly to assume that just because Manning is rich (from playing football) and smart (at playing football) he must be able to break down complex revenue statements.

Most of these guys have accountants and financial advisors that help them understand endorsement deals, sponsorships, etc...

See the diffeence here between the NBA and the NFL is that the NFL "appears" to be growing at a record pace whereas the NBA has a diluted league with struggling franchises. The NFL owners are crying foul and say they aren't making enough money. Players say ok prove it. Owners take their ball and go home.
