"Time to bench Jerry Richardson"

The Other Colbert

Richardson's sons didn't run any of the football side of the franchise. Yet its some big conspiracy. It's not always best for the family to be in the business. They wanted more control, JR wouldn't give it to them. They walked. Oh well.

Get over it already.

I am a friend of a friend of the grandson and this doesn't resemble his story at all. Second hand info to me but still.

Good article J. Thanks for sharing that. The NFL is a corporation with a non-profit title because it benefits them financially. That article opens up a whole bag of worms. They sure do screw the hand that feeds them.

Except they aren't a corporation, but way to throw around the buzz words.

Thanks. It's not a corporation in title but in practice it is. Jerry alluded that in his press conference after he fired Fox. The reason why he didn't fire him the year before is because he didn't want to pay 2 coaches at the same time which he would have had too. He mentioned he was running a business and wanted to maximize his investor's stake in the company. I view that as a corporate decision. I think Jerry views the Carolina Panthers as a business where he wants to maximize his profits for himself and his investors which is not unlike a corporation. All the owners are like that I'm sure.

All business wants to maximize profit, that's not something specific to corporations. I don't agree with the tax exempt status of the NFL but I don't confuse that with or use that to alter my opinion of the 32 other organizations that are run independently of that.

Sounds like baseless assumptions. You don't know what happened more than the man on the moon.

Based upon reports from the panther beat writers, shortly after the the sons leaving the franchise, and once again after that season. I retain information like that. Sorry that you've either ignored it, or wasted the brain cells.

Neither of those are my issues.
