I don't know a players in the league that would walk away from the NFL after only two season and after winning the Superbowl over $250. He wanted a $250 raise and the Colts said no. He walked away. That's not principle. That's stupidity.

I do not get this argument that you keep making. First, it is 100% opinion, so arguing it is pointless.

With that in mind. If the deal is simply about dollars and cents, you enter into a negotiation with a drop dead low figure in mind and your mindset is "I will make the deal as long as it's this number or higher". If the negotiation dips below that number, you walk and don't look back. That is the definition of principle. Telling the Colts he wanted a $250 raise or else and then accepting a raise of $200 would have been stupid and a sign of weakness. He would have handed over all future leverage and respect if he took less than his stated basement figure.

You are just flat wrong.

“You guys made so much [expletive] money – if you played three years in the NFL, you should own your own [expletive] team,” Richardson reportedly said.

Silver reports that other owners and Commissioner Roger Goodell “became visibly uncomfortable” after the remark. Following a short break, several owners (including, per Silver, Robert Kraft of the Patriots, John Mara of the Giants, and Clark Hunt of the Chiefs) reportedly apologized to the players in the room. One player who attended the session said that Richardson also apologized to Manning.

You can negotiate the TV contract all day long, but if you don't put Julius Peppers and Terrell Owens on the screen, then the TV companies will tell you no thanks.

Media has changed over the last 30 years and everyone has benefited. It's why the NFL owners and players can demand the prices they demand

LOL go tell that to college Football teams who pay there players nothing and get rich tv deals and sell there merchandise for as much as the NFL.
