The Golden Calf of Bristol is the number 1 selling jersey. Florida fans are the reason. People like Denver now because of The Golden Calf of Bristol, who is the hottest product on the self.

Oh, yeah, smart guy.....the players can't create a lockout....only the owners can...

Did The Golden Calf of Bristol invest his money in marketing his jersey? Is he sewing them himself?

If you sign a contract for services in the private sector and recieve guaranteed money up from you can be sued, can't just walk away with no repercussions and do have to return any guaranteed money. There are contracts like record deals for example where you can't change labels or leave until your contract expires. If you leave or quit you are sued. This isn't like working at McDonalds. It is common in service contracts for the party who fails to do the work, take money and leaves excetera to be subject to being sued. The NFl also allows players that are hurt to receive their salaries even if they don't work a day. How many jobs allow that? Smitty broke his arm playing flag football not while in the league. Did he lose the money even though his injury was through his own negligence? How many folks outside of the military serve for 3 or 4 years and are guaranteed a pension for life?

Players are far from slaves and have benefits and options few if anyone else have.

How's the word indentured servant then. They enter into a contract and are bound by it until the terms are satisfied, then they become freeagents.

I'm a slave to contracts I sign, we all are. If you sign a contract you must uphold the terms or face monetary and legal action. If you don't like the word slave, so be it, but it is what it is.

Recording artist are also products. You buy a record and the product is recorded on it. It's the recording artists voice.

You're point is? The NFL is using one of their products to make money. That's my point.

If you want to stick with the analogy than the league created the products. These products are paid exceptionally well. In some cases the products make more than the people paying them. They have created market where athletic ability is profitable for everyone involved.

Meanwhile, I haven't heard of one single owner who has a problem with JR's tactics.

“You guys made so much [expletive] money – if you played three years in the NFL, you should own your own [expletive] team,” Richardson reportedly said.

Silver reports that other owners and Commissioner Roger Goodell “became visibly uncomfortable” after the remark. Following a short break, several owners (including, per Silver, Robert Kraft of the Patriots, John Mara of the Giants, and Clark Hunt of the Chiefs) reportedly apologized to the players in the room. One player who attended the session said that Richardson also apologized to Manning.

lol, that comment wasn't even made to Manning but to someone else... and Richardson is still in on the talks.

Obviously, if JR apologized, he stepped over the line... but if Brees doesn't think it was that big a deal, why should we?

Negotiations can get heated. It sucks that Richardson is the "bad cop" in all of this... but it certainly seems he's speaking for the owners, even if they get uncomfortable when he curses :P
