JR condescending to Peyton Manning during CBA meeting?

anyone who wouldnt support a pay cut in their own job cant possibly support the owners...

if your boss called you in his office and said that dispite a record increase in your business you need to take a pay cut... would you say "great?"

expecting the NFL players to take a pay cut is just crazy.. you wouldnt do it and neither should they

You do realize that if there is a lock out that does not void any contracts?

The owners have not asked a single player to reduce the amount of money they are currently making. They are asking that the percentage that governs the salary cap and floor be lowered.

So, if your boss called you into his office and said that if you are a going to be signing a new contract within the next two years, your new contract is going to be about 10% less than what it would have been in last year, you would quit?

Right?

the point is this... the company is making more off of my performance and then asking me to sign for less than what I was already making..

would I be cool with that deal.. no... and if you would be cool with that... you under value yourself

And how do you know those players know very little about business? Your making just as much assumptions by thinking JR knows so much more than them. Just because you have money and you own a business does not mean you know anymore than the next guy. All owners are not geniuses. Some just had opportunity present itself to them and you they jumped on it, or some had the balls to go get and do something they felt would work.... Does not make one anymore knowledgeable.

And I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT. As an auditor I see VP's, presidents or high managers who does not know half of the crap they should know... It's surprising and shocking but true....Never realized until I started doing walkthroughs, and having discussions with them to clear up potential findings.

If this is a board room... then why are professionals getting up and walking out, or calling players son and speaking to the with a lack of respect. Saying that is how things work is WRONG!!! Even Wal-Mart does not abuse their potential partners in the board room like that. I Also know this because my father is VP of Finance at a global company and he had numerous meetings with Wal-Mart exploring a potential partnership. One thing you do is to have respect... You don't take business personal, but you always give respect. You do not talk down to them because you have more $$$ or you feel you are bigger and better.... That is not had negotiations get done, and that is not how deals get made.

So don't spew that crap about players just being treated like business people cause that is not how it goes.

sorry haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if someone posted this already

All I can say is smh. I don't know Peyton's reputation, but it sounds like Richardson was being a dickhead. As much as I hate the Saint, Brees seems like a very nice guy as well. Cmon Jerry the Panthers are better than this. I feel ashamed.

This goes back to my point!!! You be F-ing respectful.... Deals do not get don't between parties where there is blatant disrespect. And of all people I wouldn't expect Zod to say this his how poo goes in business.... As I said before that is not how things go.

If the players or whoever had motive to put out false report they would not just single out JR for whatever reason and say ALL OTHER OWNERS were respectful! Multiple people have confirmed this now....

“[Richardson] was extremely condescending to them, especially toward Peyton,” a source said. “[Richardson] was the only person on either side who was contentious. Everybody else was respectful. They might have said, ‘I disagree with your point,’ but at least they were respectful. [Richardson] was not.”

It's bad enough we all ready looked bad in the media after the season, now the perception of our Owner in ALL media, and through the NFLPA is taking a big hit.... Come on MAN! When the players can say all other owners were respectful except JR who had to be an A**.... That's a problem.

I've disagreed with decisions JR has made, but I said they were his to make. I've usually sided and trusted in the front office in the past. But today I have lost much respect for JR (Not that it matters to him, or will affect him in anyway). I am fan of this team... I do not have to be a fan of the owner. Just because you have done great things for us in the pass does not give you a free card to be a disrespectful A-hole.

Ugh. I've been reading these boards for about 3 months now but this pushed me over the edge and made me join. I'm so ashamed to be a Panthers fan right now it isn't even funny. We've turned into the laughing stock of the NFL seemingly overnight. I've loved this team since 2004 when I first started really following pro football and my fandom has been unwaivering. But this douche Jerry Richardson is seriously making me consider a change of colors on Sunday. The only thing that has made me hold on this long is that I've loved them so long that it's hard to let go.

I know what you mean.. I've told myself that before I follow a team that the owner clearly doesnt care if they win as long they bring in revenue, I'll stop routing for the Panthers.. but I love the Panthers and will ride out this storm

in the last 2 years JR has gone from the BigCat to the LittleSh*t

I don't buy the notion that players are going to hold this against Richardson more than the others anymore than I buy that owners will keep a record of what free agents pissed them off in the process and refuse to offer them contracts.

When all is said and done, it's still a business.

i'm not talking about what the players will think it's more what the other owners think, and if they think there's a chance it'll work in their favor later on they'll let JR take the brunt of the owners' heat

whether or not the players change their perception of JR doesn't matter. the other less vocal owners aren't going to lose anything

it's not a great position JR's in. it's not a tinfoil assumption because all it merely takes is to let JR take the command, and he wants to lead the charge anyway. they don't have to go out of their way to make it happen

You don't have to be a fan of the owner to be a fan of the team... There are a lot of owners in sport franchises whom lacks the support of their fans.

it's not the Jerry Richardson Panthers. it's the Carolina Panthers.

the team is not about him, it's about the players. if you're a fan of the players, there's no reason to ditch the team just because some senile douchebag is acting like a senile douchebag. he's irrelevant.

I'm not taking kindly to what those candyass Saints have to talk about. Fug them and any other team or fan that wants to poo talk our team or owner. Maybe JR's doing good or doing bad but he's still my teams owner and he hasn't lost my full support. If it wasn't for him there would never be a franchise in Carolina....ever. I know he wants the panthers to be successful. JR's knows he stacked the odds against his team on purpose, and yes it was a bullpoo move and for that he should have lowered tickets or compensated the fans, luckily I didn't buy tickets this year.

But you know what? Fox should have done a better job, the 2010 squad was better than that. Things like DT, QB, #2 WR were all issues that he and Hurney could have settled and fixed a long time ago and JR finally put him to the test.

Who gives a damn what Peyton Manning says, he's a good QB doesn't make him a good business man and it doesn't mean he's not wrong on anything. Speaking of which we are hearing this from words of a player, a fine young male kicker at that, so at least take it with a grain of salt. JR should go Sopranos on his ass and have him taken care of.

The Saints are a non-issue. Their pussified finesse offense is losing steam and their defense always blows ass.

Also I'm not worried about our panthers, I think JR will take care of them. He knows the fans are pissed and I think he's at least trying to do better especially with the new staff and much better media coverage.
