Cam Newton Workout Phenomenal

My observation was positive as well, I'm just wondering if you SAW anything that changed your mind?

Those videos don't show much.

We only saw a fraction of the workout, so what's your point? I already knew the kid could throw a football well in the first place, so I expected nothing less than a great workout.

The problem is that people are forming negative opinions of the kid, based on things that no QB can answer in one workout. How is he supposed to prove that he can read defenses until he actually has to do it?

I don't think people are forming negative opinions about him, I think people are taking a wait and see approach for the exact reason you stated: You can't answer all the questions in one workout.

It seems like some people are in the Cam #1 group and others are in the wait and see and possibly Cam #1 group but they get hated on for that, that's all.

It seems like the pro Cam people are using this workout as solid proof he should be #1 when that makes no sense at all.

I really think you are confusing the responses in this thread that are negative about workouts to being negative about Cam Newton as a whole, and those that do not want Cam Newton to have drawn that opinion some how because of this workout.

Speaking for myself, I have not seen enough of the workout to be impressed, what I have seen and heard is what I expected and since I can't see how impressive he was for myself it's hard to get excited about the workout. Plus, it's just a workout, and considering who put it on etc, I am not going crazy over it anyway but I still wanted to see it.

I have concerns over Cam Newton that I didn't really think would be altered by this workout much at all but I was still eager to see it. The fact I can't see it kind of annoys me, but it's not making me think poorly of Cam Newton. Nothing about how I feel towards Cam Newton has changed today, and I don't think it has for most of the other posters in this thread who weren't glowing about the workout.

Dude, Locker sucks...period. He can't pass accurately...period. And he had plenty of talent to work with in tha all star game, and he still sucked...period.

All star games don't show poo either. The kids have one week to learn a system and execute it. I never said Locker was better then Cam so please don't misinterpret my post, all I said was there are reasons why a scout might think Locker is a safer pick then Cam....

I personally haven't seen any extensive footage myself. I am going from the reports of the people who were there.

But as you know I had my beliefs before this workout and nothing i have read has changed my mind. Maycock has been the only negative nancy :) and he wasn't even there.

For me it is the fact there has been multiple reports from people in attendance that he performed very very well. So now the fall back postion for the naysayers has been the workouts don't matter.

Not talking about you, but there has been several that have said, "wait till he workouts" and now they are saying "workouts don't matter"

It's not a fallback position. People have been saying workouts aren't as important as live game tape for years. Both message boarders and experts alike. The only reason you're saying it's a fallback position is because we don't share the same opinion as you.....

Anyone who thinks a personal, private workout is going to affect a kid, especially negatively, are pretty naive.

They are specifically designed to showcase the player, not break them down.

All most people are saying is take them for what they are worth, unless of course you had your mind made up before, which is fine, just don't bash those who didn't.
