But but but he might steal our laptops!!! His dad might curse at us!!! He might not try hard once we pay him!!! Im scared!!! Im frightened!!!! Long live failure at the QB position!

What don't you understand about every post I've made stating that if the F.O. feels Cam is the best prospect in the draft then I support that. I know you want to keep trying to paint me as a hater or that I think Cam is a failure or something.....keep trying.....I have only stated facts in reasons why I don't think Cam is the pro prospect that Luck was/is, but here's my opinion now that Luck is back at Stanford.... Cam is the best prospect at the QB position.....now carry on trying to portray me as something I'm not.....

after much deliberation, I've decided that most of my blind Cam Newton hate stems from all of the Blind Cam Newton love around here. When people spout off about him with dumbass facts/info on him, I get offended and lash out for no reason other than to make people feel silly. my bad.

after reflecting on the situation, I have decided that, given his skill set, the current state of the position, and the alleged "potential" of Cam Newton, I would be perfectly fine taking him in the draft this year. I say this because I would be fine with us taking Blaine Gabbert as well, and these guys are the supposed 1-2 QBs in the draft this year.

The ONLY way I am fine with us drafting any QB with our first overall pick, is if that kid doesn't even get a chance to look at a field before he has a year on the bench to learn the intricacies of the position. Sign Marc Bulger or Billy Volek, just don't let whoever we draft on the field for at least a year.

Wonderlic score > Trent Dilfer's analysis

I am not gonna lie, I wanted Luck more than anyone.

But I am like Panthro, I dont care how many jerseys he sells, or fans he brings. If Cam can be a winning NFL QB then I want him, but I don't know if he will be.

I am one who admits that I base most of my opinions off "experts" because I dont have the coach's game film to break down.

Either way, this is a good thing for Panther fans.

I would say that Cam has a higher ceiling than Luck but also a lower floor. Luck is a safer pick and will likely be a once in a decade type talent.

Cam Newton has the ability to be a once in a generation type talent. But he also could be Vince Young.

I say the upside is too high to pass on.

Oh if Luck was in this draft it would be a no brainer.....but I also don't want to tank a season just for a chance to get the guy next year. If our F.O. feels like Cam is a guy who can be a franchise QB for us then awesome.....

Hey. At least you're willing to admit you're trolling for the sake of arguing.

I see something different about Cam compared to other QBs who've come out with his same "issues". Like what Trent said, there is an acumen for the position coupled with athleticism that looks phenomenal.

But the bottom line is this... I just want the Panthers to win. And I agree with Hurney, QB is our TOP priority. Newton is the top QB choice. Win/Win in my book.

If Cam goes somewhere else, the sig comes down, and I'll only keep tabs to see who's been in the right, and who's been in the wrong.

Completely agree with this assessment.

i think that luck has the higher ceiling and needs the least amount of work to be successful. dude could be pluged into any offense and be successful. newton needs to have one built around his skill set and strengths. he could be lethal in the right one, but downright ugly many more.

he's someone you have to build around, but, imo, it would be worth it.

luck is safer, but we could still be good with newton.

at the moment i think that buffalo is the most ready to take him and the most likely to take him. chan gailey already has installed the offense that newton would be the most successful with and he would have a decent enough QB ahead of him that he could learn from if needed. i think he and cj spiller could be awesome together. they would stil need help at WR, but still the groundwork for a good and exciting offense would be there.

    • Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.
    • I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.
    • When I look at what I can find, a carryover problem from last season is our receivers are still unable to get enough separation on a consistent basis. Canales is certainly better at scheming them open, like how he sneaked out Thielen for a big play. But then he's also having Thielen running routes he frankly shouldn't be doing anymore. I feel part of the RZ issues is not really having anyone - after trading Diontae - who can make those quick cuts on a short field to give whoever is under center a wider window to throw. We also only have one guy with blazing speed in Thompkins and from what I could see, he's really used more to draw away coverage. I bring this all up because what Canales needs for sustained success - other than QB - is the other receiver pieces we'll be getting in the offseason.  Otherwise, I have to say that Canales isn't as afraid to be aggressive offensively. As others mentioned, still doesn't run the ball enough at times. Finally, I still feel his playcalls still doesn't line up with his mantra of getting rid of the ball within x amount of seconds. Maybe I count too slow. Oh, and I'm glad Canales first game after a bye looked good. I feared he'd be like Ron Rivera where we would fall flat on our faces.
