Cam Newton Workout Phenomenal

I see no problem with checking down when needed, but Clausen checks down when there are WR's WIDE open.

Bailing- Have you seen how slow Clausen is?

Clausen is slow, but Cam Newton isn't exactly speedy either. He used his size to elude in college. But in the pros, everyone is big and fast. Ill be interested to see if he can do that on the pro level if and when he bails.

that doofas mkchay moved cam to his top 10, but still has gabbert rated above him. how stupid.

everyone who talks about cam being a project can't seriously be thinking gabbert is anything but a project. gabbert has no where near the potential cam has and has a lot more flaws.

Ive been to an Auburn game live and watched multiple auburn games in full. He isn't the best at getting past his first option, or even his second. If that fails its normally bailing out of the pocket or checking down. which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But jimmy clausen has gotten critisized heavily for checking down and bailing.

If this were true, then he either had the best wide receivers and TEs in the history of college football, or has played against the worst secondaries in the history of college football.

Because if he was just blindly throwing into coverage without making reads, he wouldn't have a 32TD to 5INT record.

Since we know neither of the statements are true, I can promise you, he's making reads.

I just want to say it's going to be hilarious if Newton is drafted here, gets thrown into the starting role when he's OBVIOUSLY not ready, and is flat out horrible. I'll support him, but you guys are delusional when it comes to rookie QB expectations.

I'm not even a Clausen fan and think the situation he was in was FAR from ideal and he shouldn't be labeled terrible because of one bad rookie season.

look at the source......Trent Dilfer

Check out what he thought about Bradford heading into the draft

In a recent appearance on ESPN Radio’s St. Louis affiliate, ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer gave a candid assessment of the 2008 Heisman winner: “In my opinion, he’s not even close to the best player in this draft.”

Wow. Trent, please elaborate.

“I think he has major, major challenges ahead of him,” Dilfer said. “Sam Bradford is not Mark Sanchez. He is not Matthew Stafford. He is not Matt Ryan. I would say he’s not even Joe Flacco.”

, and that selecting Bradford could end up being a “catastrophic” mistake for the Rams.

expecting a guy to be able to improve every week, show glimpses of greatness rather than flashes of mediocrity, get us a few wins, show some leadership skills, have some cohesion with the offense, get us down the field and in the end zone at least once a game is unrealistic?

lol thats all i want or expect from a rookie QB or any green QB, actually. thats all i wanted to see from clausen. didn't see it. willing to see him get another opportunity, but if we have a chance to draft someone who could be a great QB, we don't need to be passing them up because we have a little glimmer of hope that clausen (or some average vet QB) might be able to possibly be a franchise QB.

if newton continues to impress and improve, we need to take advantage ofthe opportunity.

I never said he didn't make reads, i said he didn't go team into his progressions. If any offense in the country was taylor made for first read success it was Auburns. So no, i didn't say that.
