So is Tiger woods done or what?

I've said this before, but Tiger is the whole reason I started watching golf. I rarely even mention his name now because by Sunday he's out of contention.

I've started watching a little more causally. Although I confess when he's completely out sometimes I don't watch at all. Didn't see any of the last few tournaments. I did watch the last round of the US open

There are a lot of fathers out there with confidence in their sons' athletic ability, but few of those sons are able to back it up quite like Rory McIlroy.

According to Andrew Cotter of BBC, Gerry McIlroy and friends bet on his son to win the British Open before he turns 26 years old:

The 2004 bet comes to $683, which could total $342,000 if McIlroy is able to come through with a victory on Sunday, according to Kyle Porter of CBS Sports. At 25 years old, this would be his last chance to make good on the bet.

Fortunately for the proud father, McIlroy is in great shape to finally win the Open Championship. He shot out to a lead in Round 1 with a score of 66, which he was able to follow up with another 66 in Round 2. Although he slowed down a bit in Round 3, he finished with two eagles in his final three holes to build up a six-stroke lead heading into the final round.

To me, Tiger's biggest drop off has been his irons.

10 yrs ago, he was knocking the pin down over and over again.  Now his putts are distance putts, not tap ins.

Yes, he can still boom it occasionally, but so can 30 other guys.  He does not possess the IT factor these days, no telling if he will get it back.  Maybe one more major?  Who knows.  Just don't see him putting together the kind of consistency needed to become number 1 again.

Anybodyhome is right, they show Tiger much much more than the other golfers even when he isn't leading. KG is right too he's a huge draw and I get why they do it but it does get annoying.

I'm not a Tiger fan mainly because of how I've seen him handle himself live and in person at the Masters, the PGA Championship, the US Open, Quail Hollow and several other tournaments I've attended. However he is arguably the best golfer ever... Only just slightly behind Jack imo.

As for this Open Championship, Rory is beating and I doubt anyone will catch him.

On an off topic note I LOVE Scott Van Pelt on ESPN. He is an awesome golf commentator.

I don't know, maybe you're trolling.

You do know Tiger was the PGA Player of the year in 2013?

He killed it last year, back surgery this year.

That should bring you up to date! ;)

I think we need to give today's young golfers some credit, these guys are really good.
