2 PGA wins already this year. The haters must be hatin' in overtime right now.

Cant wait wait for Augusta, Phil is playing better and so are some other top players.

Well not McCliloy whos big move this year has been to throw down his club, walk off the course and lie about an injury in one of the most classless moves in pro golf in years. post-36-0-37444700-1364259765_thumb.jpg

I saw them talking to him somewhere the other day and he basically said that last year he was overthinking his swing... and I could see it. He was so focused on mechanics it was hurting him. This year so far, he's swinging my more fluidly and natural. He's keeping the ball in play off the tee, hitting his irons like freaking darts and putting OK. He will win doing that.

I think the switch to Nike really hurt Rory and yes, his temper tantrum where he walked off was an immature dick move. I think a lot of the other players really got on him about it.

This move was up there with it though...

He won a lot last year as well.

3 PGA wins, omly trailing Mcllroys's 4.

Difference is Tiger is winning this year as well.

The spoiled Irish brat cant even make the Friday cut.

  • 1 year later...

He's still undoubtedly the most talented golfer in the world. It's going to take him longer than most expected to regain his confidence, but it's not like he needs to start all over again. With time he'll be back and I think he still breaks Jack's record.

not a chance...............his body is breaking down and he's not feared any longer.

People said years ago they didn't believe his body could hold up to the violence of his swing.........

although Tiger has changed it several times it's all catching up with him now.

Simple solution...slow down his swing. Now that he is having surgery, he will have no choice but to approach the game the way an aging golfer should. He'll start back with chipping/putting first, then ease into a full golf swing. I'm not saying he'll break Jack's record, but I think he will be more consistent.

I wrote that 3 years ago.

...and don't forget, all these medical problems are in spite of him having the absolutely best medical care available.

His career is in trouble.

I've thought for several years now that his quest to break Jack's records would end up short. There's too much young talent on tour now and Tiger has lost his intimidation factor.

Cracks me up so many trying to put the nails in Tiger's coffin.

5 PGA wins last year, Golfer of the year, etc, etc, etc.

If his ball doesn't hit the flag pole at Augusta........

He's going to be out a few weeks.

The surgery was performed Monday in Park City, Utah, by neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Rich.

The procedure was successful, but Woods will be unable to play in the Masters Tournament, instead requiring rest and rehabilitation for the next several weeks.

"After attempting to get ready for the Masters, and failing to make the necessary progress, I decided, in consultation with my doctors, to have this procedure done," Woods said.

"I'd like to express my disappointment to the Augusta National membership, staff, volunteers and patrons that I will not be at the Masters," Tiger added. "It's a week that's very special to me. It also looks like I'll be forced to miss several upcoming tournaments to focus on my rehabilitation and getting healthy.

"I'd also like to thank the fans for their support and concern. It's very kind and greatly appreciated. This is frustrating, but it's something my doctors advised me to do for my immediate and long-term health."

Woods will begin intensive rehabilitation and soft-tissue treatment within a week. Healing and recovery times differ for each individual based on many physiological factors, but Woods could begin chipping and putting, after assessment by his doctors, in three weeks.

The goal is for Tiger to resume playing sometime this summer. The repetitive motion from golf can cause this injury, and Woods could have sustained further damage if he had continued to play. There should be no long-lasting effects from the surgery, and it should not impact the longevity of his career.

I'm gonna wait and see.

If you're one of the people saying Tiger is done you obviously don't follow golf.

I do follow golf and I believe he will struggle mightily to win another major.

With the other talent and his body/age it's going to get tougher and tougher.

Along with the fact some of the major courses might not be to his liking or favorable.

And I'm not putting nails in his coffin because I believe he'll win again on the Tour.........

I just don't believe it will be a major.

I am not a Tiger fan in any sense of the word but I do respect and admire his talent.  That being said, I think he may win one or two more majors but I don't think he will break Jack's record.  The thing that will save Tiger is his putting and short game, you don't need to be at full physical shape to putt well.  But as others have mentioned, I think the rest of the golf world has caught up to him in terms of length off the tee and the other skills that made him so unbeatable 10 years ago. And the intimidaton factor is gone.

It's almost like I wrote that myself.  Feel exactly the same.

He'll still win... he may even win a major or two... he's not going to break Jack's record now imo.

When he was winning last year, he was putting well.

Tiger had three things that set him apart during his dominant years:

Distance

Putting

Intimidation

He no longer has two of those and only sometimes has the putting.
