So is Tiger woods done or what?

..and he shot a 65 or something today, which only adds fuel to the speculation that the only injury he suffered a couple weeks ago was being butt-hurt because he was a non-factor in the tournament. Well ya know what? If you don't want to play anymore because you're not winning and you just want to take your ball and go home, by all means, do so. Just walk off the course and inform the marshall with your group that you quit.

Hey, most of the guys on tour think you're a pomopus, arrogant a$$ anyway, so what difference does it make if you quit? None.

But, after today's round I'm sure the entire SportsCenter crew and every other sportscaster out there now thinks Tiger will win the next 24 majors...

that wouldn't look good for the sponsors bro

I wouldn't say he was a non factor, 8 shots back and in the money when he withdrew.

Woods, 36, appeared to be in some distress after hitting his second shot in the water at the par-5 10th hole at the TPC Blue Monster at Doral, where he was on his way to his worst finish in nine appearances at the venue.

He appeared to favor his left leg, and then after hitting a 321-yard drive at No. 12, Woods summoned officials and was escorted from the property with his caddie, Joe LaCava, on a golf cart. Woods went to the parking lot and drove away with LaCava. Woods lives about 100 miles north of Doral outside of Jupiter.

He issued a statement about an hour after he left the course.

"I felt tightness in my left Achilles warming up this morning, and it continued to get progressively worse," said Woods, who made three bogeys and no birdies during the final round. "After hitting my tee shot at 12, I decided it was necessary to withdraw. In the past, I may have tried to continue to play, but this time, I decided to do what I thought was necessary."

Justin Rose earned the win, beating Bubba Watson by a stroke. Rory McIlroy finished two shots back.

Woods first suffered an Achilles injury at last year's Masters and tried to return a month later at the Players Championship, where he withdrew after just nine holes. He later said that he caused himself a setback by trying to return too soon.

It seems reasonable he's gotten smarter and rather than risk further injury live to fight another day especially when the Masters are just around the corner.

That being said a hellova round today and tied for the lead.

Give 'em hell Tiger!

ESPN blows the same handful of guys that they think will bring them ratings. Yea, Tiger is one of them.

But I think I've said this before (probably in this thread), Tiger is only reason I started watching golf. So I'm sort of impartial, it just didn't seem like something I'd be interested in until I saw Tiger. Remember I was only about 6 when he started the tour

Tiger wins today unless he totally falls on his face. Players were quoted yesterday as saying the course was playing like a US

Open course where scoring is difficult and par is a premium. Tiger can take advantage of his length to birdie or eagle the par 5's

and make par on the 3's and 4's. If he just does that someone is going to have to go low or a super tough course just to have a

shot. They pretty much assisted Tiger yesterday with the speed and firmness of the greens and the "tucked" pin placements.

Don't think Arnie and the PGA would have done that on purpose do ya?????

Again, as much as I don't care for Tiger, it'd be really hard to "fix" a tournament for one specific player. There's plenty of guys out there that can hit it long and are dead on with iron play.... winning on the PGA is about one thing, and one thing only... putting. The guy that's putting the best wins, period.

If it wasn't, guys like Bubba and Dustin Johnson would win every tournament.

Putting is important obviously, but hitting fairways and a short game doesn't hurt either. I think Lefties' wedge play has won him more tournaments than his putter has. But most golfers have a strength and a weakness. I know I do on the golf course. I just dont know round to round or even hole to hole sometimes what that is. :P

not on a US Open set up. You have the lead....you have the advantage.

fairways, greens and two-putts.....make someone go low.

which they won't be able to do.

I can't say he's back until he wins another major, but this is a great step. Eyes will be glued to the Masters (well they would anyway, but still).

The Masters to me is like the Super Bowl... it's second only to a Panthers game on TV and/or playoff/SuperBowl football.

I will watch it all week and we're having a party here Sunday. I so wish we could still get badges... I've been 5 times and it's the most beautiful place on earth.

This win is certainly a big step for Tiger's confidence... this was no slouch field either. He also clearly knows how to play Augusta.
