Yap-Yap Wins Shootout

Here's the largest (and insurmountable it seems) difference for Kyle when comparing him to Dale Sr., DW, Cale, Bobby Allison, or others. It isn't the driving style that makes people not like him. It's his attitude.

I still go back to the reason Dale Jr is in Mr. H's stable and Kyle is gone. None of these others would ever have ditched their team. I have personally witnessed a certain 'old school' driver go into his trailer pissed off hotter than a blown engine, throw sh*t around, come out, and once the car was rebuilt, he got back into the race for 15 measly laps, all for the points.

I have also seen Kyle act quite younger than his actual age, get pissed off and leave the track, ditching his team. Just to have Lil E have to pick it up for him and clean up whatever he could of the mess, for the points.

Hell, I remember a race where DW had no damn hood on the car. He had the front panel and the quarter panels, and his crew was able to jury-rig the hood to stay down, and he went back out on the track until the officials told him to hang it up for the day and pulled him off. That's the kind of driver I'm used to, the kind that we appreciated on the race team, and the kind that fans want to support. He didn't pout, just got his job done.

That is what Kyle should have done. But he didn't. Maybe he will mature, but you don't ditch your team. Period. He lost many points on that day with many in the sport and many fans watching...

That, and he's a coward, and hypocrite, and rarely takes responsibility for his actions. It's a shame because it's not like he doesn't have talent. Wish he could use some of it to get a better attitude.

From the highlights I saw it looked quite interesting. I had to work so I missed it, but like I said it looked like a really good race. Sorry I missed it, not so sorry I missed Harvick winning.

You guys slam Kyle all the time for bumping. I'm curious to know who your favorite drivers were back in the day. Plenty of them bumped and rubbed too. Its called racing, not a "keep the car pretty" fest.

I realize sometimes hes still young and immature and does indeed have some things to learn about driving clean etc. All I'm sayin is if you ever supported Earnhardt, D. Waltrip or Cale Yarborough, among many others, then you might wanna rethink ripping on someone for "bumping".

Yeah... but here's the thing with those guys and Kyle...

He's not them. He's a big name yes. But come on... you can't expect me to look at Kyle Busch play bumper cars with each car on the track all race long, every chance he gets, and then go "Well, Earnhardt bumped people too".

Kyle Busch does it whenever he wants. Waltrip, Cale, Sr., etc... They would try to pass as much as they could first. Then bump to let ya know they are there and as a last resort move you. (unless there was bad blood)

Kyle just moves people. And, that's OK entering a turn at Martinsville... or those other flat tracks even... but this is Daytona.. You bump on the straights. You bump before the enterance of a turn. Not IN the turn, and not as you are turning left entering a turn.

Being as he's a very very good driver.. as most of them are. Maybe Kyle could learn how to be a classy driver too. Like Mark Martin or Jeff Burton.

Hell, Carl Edwards is doing pretty damn good too, and he's not hit'n everyone.

I've seen Jeff Burton get run over and get pissed, I've seen Mark do the same. I've also seen them if needed bump someone.. but that's very few and far between.

Kyle skips the class, and goes right to ass when he's racing that way (in my opinion)

You can count more bumps in the last 5 races Kyle has run were he's hit cars without any real reason other than to pass, then Sr. Did to Intimidate people. Because if he's not fast enough, he'll move the cars that are faster when he gets a chance to. Not a bad idea... but learn a lil more finesse too.

He'd have more respect from the other Drivers if he actaully drove like a racer, and not a Demo Derby Driver with a powerful car.

lmao the haters of kyle gloss right over dale doing it. they say dale sr tried to pass clean. so does kyle, and claim others dont bump to pass unless forced, you mean like dale sr in the middle of the turn at bristol???????? anyone remember tally where he ended up flipping rusty. please take off the glasses when it comes to dale and venting on kyle.

get real guys, kyle is an ass off the track yes, but on it he fits the sr role. people hate him because of his off the track additude towards others esp the fans. i dont mind he was hated before he won races, and now gives it back after them. fine by me.

redwing got it right its the off the track poo that he is a true ass. on the track he is a rowdy driver like the guys people loved.

Sadly it's a different time and place tho. Harvick got sat down for it.. Tony got tore up for it (the drive'n on the track) and Kyle get's "WOw he's exciting!"

Bull... it's not just his off track attitude... it's his over all attitude. Behind the wheel and outta the car.

I understand fully what all you guys are saying about Kyle, and all of it has merit. I've said many times myself he has the tendency to act like a baby. Everyone here knows I support JGR as well as Tony Stewart, the only other point I would have to bring up is he is still young and maybe he just needs to mature more than he has. He is only 24 and it seems alot of people forget that. Sometimes it takes time for athletes...race car drivers in particular to learn to mature and calm down.

As far as on track comparisons, I still fail to see how Kyle is any different then DW or Sr. with the way he drives. He simply doesnt care what he does or who he wrecks to get to the front. If youre going to lamb-baste Kyle for his driving style, at least have the balls to admit that older drivers drove the same way and just because you (not you personally, but anyone) supported Dale or Darrell doesnt mean they were any less of a dickhead on the track.

Kyle is what he is and he doesnt apologize for it, thats the reason I like him. As far as maturity goes, maybe he can take some lessons from Logano.
