Luck wanted his degree. As a Redshirt Junior, he'd get it after his Senior Academic year.

This is 100% what this is. The Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Packers, Falcons, Saints did not dump contracts...stagnate the growth and development of players/coaches for the CBA. JR did...as we have seen the last 2 years.

His sons were against this so they were fired. He brought a president in to say yes sir...and execute this CBA "panic room" plan that is the Panthers.

I think JR thought he had the ear of the majority of the owners 2 yrs ago but as the lockout looms closer, owners and Goddell see the horrible PR and financial impact they may take and maybe refocusing on having a resolution.

JR did it to plan...others owners kinda did it and if there is a resolution then all of JR's decisions the last two years: not renewing contracts, not getting Free Agents, Keeping Fox for 2 extra years(when he would have fired him), firing his sons, losing all the assistants.....this may have long term effects if JR becomes the face of owner greed in spite of winning, fans and his player-coaches.

I mean if you are a high profile Free Agent is the Panthers organization where you want to go? Is JR who you want to play for as he tried to dissolve the player union? Possible Black balling from the players side is a great possibility.
