Yeah, I'm starting to have a little hope now. I'm not sure why they waited until 20-something days to get serious about this, but whatever...

I'll say this though... if we don't have a lockout, Richardson is going to look like a dolt.

all depends on what we do with all the extra cap space we have.

I'll say this though... if we don't have a lockout, Richardson is going to look like a dolt.

Richardson is in a win/win situation. Dumped alot of salary this past season the books are cleared coming in 2011. So if there is a season we re-sign our key players and have some extra cash for free agency.

The season just ended the NFL was going to overshadow the SuperBowl with CBA talks. This is the right time to get them started. This is really the first round of talks to hammer a deal out. That is why I dont expect them to have a deal. As long as they get one done before March I will be happy.

Why? he used the uncapped year to get rid of bad contracts.

No no no... nothing about salary moves... we won't know how that all pans out for another year or two.

My comment was reflecting on his statements about the CBA during his Presser recently. He cast a very long shadow over it getting worked out, and seemed like he was saying a lockout was a foregone conclusion. If a new CBA gets done, well, I guess he was wrong to say the least.

Hmm. Perhaps. But usually the tone is a leeeetle more optimistic towards the media about negotiations, if there really is a hope. I don't know that a press conference is the best place to try and stare down your opponent's hand.

Anytime the issue comes up, he has to stare it down.

it's part of the bargaining process (any bargaining process). both sides want to be perceived as not willing to budge. both sides want to wait for the other to slip up in some way (see D. Smith saying the players got a great deal last time). both sides don't want to be the one that admits that they are afraid of losing their source of income.

it's bargaining. leverage and pressure are the best weapons. the merits of the two arguments mean very little in comparison.

      Honestly Bryce is a conundrum right now I'm not really sure what we should do with him but I am content on him being the quarterback number one going into next season. I think we should allow him the chance to play out the season to prove that he's the quarterback he can be going into next season.  I would not waste a high draft pick on a quarterback because I'm not sure anyone in this up and coming class is as good or has the ceiling that he had with that said I wouldn't throw away the future I would bring in someone like Justin Fields to have him looking over his shoulder and give us a plan b if everything doesn't go right on a one-year deal. I think the priority right now if tepper wants to make a big splash is find a way to get Travis Hunter that would be option 1AA because he helps with both sides of the field either way whatever you need defense or offense. Make that happen and then go mostly defense the rest of the way and we're cooking.
