I agree with the thread title. While I agree he was terrible, but the whole team was too. A new offense along with coaches & everything should hopefully make him play better. Time will tell.

Now, Carolina goes out and continues to try to find a franchise QB. Can't put all your eggs in any one basket until someone proves to be legit.

what is funny is the koolkat is hanging on to the fact Jaws said that he wouldn't give up on a Clausen as solid proof of something. Jaws made zero sense when he spoke on that and it was clear he hadn't followed Carolina's season based off what he said.

yeah, you are taking the opinion of a talking media head.....that clearly indicated in his comments that he hadn't paid attention to what went on in Carolina this year as gold.

again, I agree w/ Jaws to a degree. Don't give up on Clausen. Claiming Carolian should bench him and look for legit QB play doesn't mean you give up on him. Bury him on your depth chart and see what he can do at a later date. Even Hurney said the #1 need in Carolina is QB play.

Jaws is a talking head who use to play QB. Jaws doesn't bring any more credibility to the table than Terry Bradshaw......a former SB winning QB who called out Clausen's faults when everyone bashed him for doing it. Terry looked to be spot on. Terry's comments showed he watched Clausen and was correct about things. Jaws' comments about the team show he really didn't watch squat going on. So again, I think you are putting too my faith in a single comment.

Technically, Clausen would be competing......but just isn't good enough to really do it yet.

If Clausen showed real promise....the GM would not be saying that. We saw enough of Clausen last season to know he isn't what was advertised. He is a project given the type offense we have.....a project isn't the type guy you treat and make plans around as you would a hopeful future franchise QB.

Trey wingo is a talking head Jaws can break the game down tell you what the qb was thinking on certain plays. That's why he is on NFL match up and with Gurden on MNF they breakdown plays. Please don't put him in the same catagory as Bradshaw who calls Highlights and is the jokester on FOX pregame show. But I still would respect Bradshaw's opinion more then me you and anybody on this MB. He still not the game anayst Jaws is.

Jaws made a comment and also indicated things about the rest of the team that didn't appear accurate.

The rest isn't all assumptions, NFL history PROVES that it is rare for a rookie QB to drastically improve in year 2......as you claim Clausen will do. I have just pointing out history....
