Im sorry but first Clausen is wrong for our system. He is much more of a WC guy IMO.

Secondly he really did show much to get excited about last year. Yes he did not have much support but he still did show any sign of lights coming on and understanding the game.

Tell me. Exactly how, in any college stat, awards, or anything he did last year, is Clausen better in any tangible football category than Newton?

This is irony in it's purest form.

Besides, this isn't a pro-Newton thread. It's a defending Clausen thread. The guy fuging sucks and it shows. Half the time he's throwing the damn ball into the stands, the other half he's not even clearing the reach of D-Linemen.

Oh... I'm sorry.... he did manage to make a couple short sideline throws on broken coverage. I'd bet he was aiming for a Coach tho.

How do you really feel about Clausen?

actually, this is a thread about hoping he gets better...since it's obviously in the teams best interest that he does

But this is a message board with several posters who are dedicated to making sure you understand that they don't believe he's capable. Pro-Clausen threads aren't welcome here.

maybe the point is there simply shouldn't be new threads everyday pimping a kid that hasn't done squat but be awful?

No, really???

We get it, you're convinced. And apparently compelled to make sure everyone knows it.

typo. read the rest of that paragraph you cherry picked that from. was meant to say I haven't ruled him out. . that is why I talk about him taking time to develop and being a QB....just not THE QB. He shouldn't be starting is the point.....he should be working on developing and fixing flaws.

Uhh... this is a SCOUTING REPORT by one person, who, by what I see, is talking Clausen up. It's complete opinion and is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with his accomplishments as a player or his ability to play.

Here's what's more important:

http://www.nfl.com/players/jimmyclausen/careerstats?id=CLA709185

2010: Attempts 299 - Completions 157 - Completion % 52.5 - TD: 3 - Int - 9, number of throws over 20 yards - 16

I could dig up a scouting report for Matt Lienart that makes him look like a Super Star. However, we know he isn't in the NFL.

It's not just 1 person every scouting service had the same Breakdown and the thing about them being wrong sometimes. Well you don't always serve Hot fries but nobody says you can't make fries. You talk about people who get paid 2 scout player like you can do better. What check are you cashing from what NFL team or sporting service? NONE!!!! Keep cashing your Wendy's check and let the guys who get paid 2 scout do their job.

especially silly to use it to defend Clause when it clearly didn't match what the paid NFL scouts came away with......

the real scouting reports showed he was a mid 2nd rounder. This guys report also claims stuff that was also a mirror opposite of things we watched this year......

So the situation he was put in had nothing 2 do with it right?????

Are there many Pro's about Clausen? Because unless I have missed some facts there are not many. After that is just ones assumption and thats not even worth 2 cent much less my time.

Giving up on a QB after his rookie season, regardless of the circumstances, is foolish.

There is no argument to justify giving up on a QB after his rookie season.

I think the Raiders,Cards,Browns,Falcons, and the 49ers would disagree. Sometimes if you have a round peg you will never make it into the square hole no matter how much time you spend.

2nd round draft picks since 2002

DeShaun Foster

Bruce Nelson

Keary Colbert

Eric Shelton

Richard Marshall

Dwayne Jarrett

Everette Brown

Jimmy Clausen
