I have long been a Jake fan, but I totally agree he stunk that game up. I sat there in the rain and witnessed it first hand. I also read somewhere later some of the Cards' DBs said they baited him into throwing some of those picks.

As bad as Jake played, he wasn't the one who let Fitzgerald run unchecked almost all game, though. So, IMO, it wasn't all him why we lost. I still think had we stayed with the running game, it may have been closer. Maybe we would still have lost, but I think things might have been a little different.

But it was a total team meltdown.

Yes, I will admit it, I defended Colbert for a couple of years. But I turned on him like everybody else when he showed that he was only a training camp god. I don't mind people being critical against any player and nothing against Raging Bull, but he has made a hobby of subtle backstabbing lately and I wanted to point that out. Again, nothing against him. It's just that Delhomme is going to be here next year regardless of what you, I or the sectional sofa want. Colbert was always an option, we could have gotten other receivers whether we did or not, (and not pretty much covers it). At QB next year, we don't even have that choice...

I know this is a message board, but that doesn't give you free reign to bash without being called on it, (me either). Your opinion is not any more credible than mine, nor mine yours...

backstabbing? that's a hypocrite statement if I've ever seen one.

Problem is, I don't tie my emotions in with players or coaches so much like other people do here. You should realize that. One of the most popular players in Panthers history is packing his bags and taking his game elsewhere after years of being treated like a king by this franchise. ....but my opinion makes me a backstabber. Yea.

So as a fan I like to take an objective opinion. And my objective opinion says 6 turnovers in a game is a little bad. It's my opinion and you don't agree with it. Well too fuging bad for me I guess. Mintal doesn't agree with me so I'm fuged 6 ways to Sunday.

I know you keep throwing out the "well there's nothing you can do about it" card. At this point do you think I care? Do you think I care?

This is the TEAM I love, not the players or personnel.

Thanks for posting this. Helps a lot and really adds to any productive discussion. Oh, wait, productive discussion on this forum. Ha ha ha. Never mind.

Yea right, you, on the other hand, contribute such an articulate viewpoint.

All you've pretty much done yourself is hurl cynical comments out like a depressed movie critic to other people on this forum whenever they're thinking out loud.

I would love to beat Jake and the motherf*cker who made this video with a pair of brass knuckles. I wouldn't do that really but damn that period... O.K. we lose you might throw 3 INT's , but six... man f*ck you... Jake Delhomme has alot to prove to the loyal fans and himself after a performance like that. If he has an average season next year the organization should let the fans........ I don't even want to write it, just get the f*ck out town, take his ass back to Louisiana don't ever come back to North Carolina or South Carolina. We want a superbowl championship and nothing else less than that...

Dude, seriously, grow up.

"He forced me to watch my favorite team lose. I'm so mad I just wanna punch him in the face. How dare he do that to me! He owes me! I'll never watch him again! I hope the team lets him go, and if they don't I won't watch them anymore either!!!"

That'd be sad coming from a 12 year old. But from an adult?

And don't give me "I spent money on a ticket" either. Those tickets don't come with guarantees, especially not when the event you're watching is arguably the most unpredictable sport in the world.

As a fan, yes, it hurts to see the team lose, but good grief let's not act like it's some huge emotional trauma :nonod:

There are people in the world I'd certainly like to punch in the face. Delhomme isn't one of them. By all accounts, he's an extremely nice guy. Thus, I think I'll reserve anger on that level for someone who's done something a whole lot worse than play badly in a football game.

I can't wait until next year when he puts out several 3+ interception performances and more people are either a)seeing the light or b)arguing about the tough schedule we're playing and blame the receivers for around half of those interceptions, or opining that it's still better than 1-15, like they've always done.

Seriously I don't have a f*cking clue how you turn the ball over 6 times in a playoff game and you're 34 years old and people still think you should start and don't believe in even bringing any competition from the outside. And I don't give a poo about people just going along with what Fox thinks, makes me think they're incapable of any independent thought. I've never heard of this kind of player love from any fan of another team. In a more serious analogy, that's like a power plant worker single-handedly causing a reactor meltdown and next week he gets awarded employee of the month.

In the meantime I'm done arguing about Delhomme and people are just going to have to observe the truth the hard way in the future. I'm finished with the subject. I'm just going to take a page from engine9 and patronize every Delhomme fanboy with exaggerated statistics and glorify all of his accomplishments. Because f*ck intelligence and logic, I might as well join the blind circle jerk of Delhomme love everybody seems to be having so much fun with here.

I hope I'm f*cking wrong for the sake of this team, but I probably won't be.

    • Him and Sanders are the only QBs I would consider in the first round. I won’t be upset if we take Sanders, unlike some people on the board. Both have potential to be really good NFL QBs if the teams can develop them.  But as we have seen teams are not willing or are unable to now properly develop rookie QBs.
    • I remember the last time we had a Cam at QB in Charlotte
    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
