I have the "luck" of being a broke college student so I don't deal with this much revered entity known as the IRS.

I'll be getting a job soon enough though. That's the plan anyhow.

what did they tell you? is yours delayed too?

i e-filed with h&r block, and they are going to hold my paperwork until the irs gives the ok to start processing.

I (first time ever) had a family member (that works for H&R block) do mine. She sent mine in a few weeks back and I was told I will have my return this Friday. IRS excepted it already. Plus I just got back my NC tax money today.

either yours didnt meet the criteria for the delay, or your relative did some paper shuffling to get it accepted. i was told during the data entry portion that i could delay repaymet of a credit for now as long as i filed an ammended return before the deadline, but when i sent it in, the irs rejected it and i had to resubmit it with the repayment.

never made sense to me. should at least get a state tax exemption on that. i can see the federal government wanting their cut tho.

i've always wondered why any federal employee or member of the military has to pay federal income tax. just adjust their pay scale lol.

IRS taxes anything that "improves your income" or something like that. That way, supposable, everyone is suppose to report everything.

If they start adjusting government employees' income, that just opens a lot more can of worms and causes a lot more paperwork, actually.

100% Agree, seems like it would be a cost benefit to the government. Less paperwork in the end I would think, but if you have ever worked for the government then you know "Harder not Smarter" is the rule of thumb!

Actually it is probably easier to run everything through a single filter rather than use two separate methods for gathering taxes.
