You can blame Richardson for why we don't know whay Jimmy can do. We would at least have a much better read if we had dumped Fox and hired Rivera and Shula to work with him in 2010. If Jimmy does turn things around under better coaching we could have had that result already instead of wondering what he is capable of doing.

I know I should be all ARAGGGHG about the idea.

But, honestly, when the main prospects for the #1 overall are:

1. A DT who would've been the third taken last year

2. A CB

3. A WR the year after we drafted 3 players at the same position

4. A DE with one year of production and plays a position we don't really have a need at

I can't really get too upset at the possibility. Clausen was horrific, Moore crumbled once he was asked to be the guy/played terrible to start the season and lol Pike.

The true litmus of how bad we are at QB is people trying to get excited at the possibility of signing Billy Volek.

Anyways, no tears shed here if we grab Newton.

fwiw, wes bunting/pfw has him going 3rd overall to buffalo which i think is probably going to happen and would make a lot of sense. chan gailey is pretty forward thinking and open minded with his offense and already runs the pistol offense which i think would be best for newton, esp. starting early. newton would tear up the league in the pistol.
