The only way I see us moving down is that if a team wants Fairly, Bowers, or Green in a bad way. They all will not make it out of the top 10. We can forget about trading down with a team in the top 5 though. Its not going to happen.

No team is going to get all crazy over some guy from here until draft day. The crazy would have already been starting, as would the hype. None of that has happened. The combine won't be some magical event either. The pick is ours. Let's figure out how to tag/trade, or trade a current player to get more picks. That's more realistic.

We have needed a DT for what 3 years? Now we want to pass up on a good one?

seriously! this is my exact sentiments as well. it would be different if the #1 pick was a linebacker or a running back, but a serious need position is in the #1 slot. slam and dunk as far as i'm concerned. it's a weak draft class anyway, so even if he isn't everything we hoped for, it's not like you could complain considering the strength of the draft class.

I agree. And I don't get all the "We can get a good DT in Free Agency."

Like it's as simple as that.

I think it also depends on if there is someone we think is clearly better out of the top 4.

If we would be relatively happy with Bowers Green, Fairly or Paterson then trade down to #4 for a 6th round pick and take whoever is available when it is our turn.

Slim chance but that is how it could work.

Oh and also somebody could become a clear elite #1 pick between now and April.

I've said again and again, once Luck backed out, we picked the worst year ever to get the #1 pick. I want to trade down, but why would most teams do it?

You think a team really wants to trade up to the #1 spot when they can just wait and take a guy of similar skill in the 2nd round? lol

Sucks...

It looks that way, but you never know... Luck could turn out to be a complete bust and Fairley could be the next Warren Sapp.
