my uneducated opinion is: There will not be a lockout.

I have posted this several times there will be NO LOCKOUT. None, zero, zip.

The owners have had the right this entire time to say the Union hasn't negotiated in good faith (and they haven't they have drug ass in court) and can put what is called a last, best offer on the table. When they do then the players have to accept it or strike. If they don't strike, then it is the new CBA period.

The NFL isn't stupid. They have set this path in motion back when they opted out of the CBA. There WILL be football you can bet your ass on that. See my friends, if there is football then that 4 billion from the networks, well that is just normal payment, not a loan to be repaid . Oh yes...there will be football. ;)

the Owners have used enough anal eaze that the NFLPA doesn't realize yet they have been bent over the table for some time now :D

The difference between fact and opinion is that a fact is something that is empirically true and can be supported by evidence while an opinion is a belief that may or may not be backed up with some type of evidence. An opinion is normally a subjective statement that can be the result of an emotion or an individual interpretation of a fact. For example, biological differences between males and females are a fact while a preference for one gender over the other is opinion.

Although the differences between facts and opinions usually rest on whether they are objective or subjective respectively, a fact can in some cases be subjective. A subjective fact can communicate how someone is feeling. If you tell someone that you are feeling sad, that is a subjective fact about your emotional state. On the other hand if I tell you that you are sad, this statement would qualify only as my opinion regardless of whether it is true.

A fact can safely be defined as a true belief. Because belief is synonymous with opinion, one who makes a factual statement also holds an opinion that the fact is true. Therefore all facts are accompanied by an opinion though opinions do not require facts to be held as true by those who believe them; hence the statement that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Discerning fact from opinion is often difficult, and for centuries philosophers have been trying to discover what can actually qualify as a fact rather than an opinion. This branch of philosophy is called epistemology, the study of the limits of what human beings can know for fact. Additionally, all of the modern sciences rest on the foundation of discerning fact from opinion and methodically aim to find true knowledge or fact.

It is difficult to claim that something is a fact when it is not clearly obvious, such as biological differences in gender, because facts are often proven to be wrong. For example, centuries ago the world was thought to be flat and this was held as fact by the majority of people. As we now know, the world is in fact round so the former statement is demoted to an outdated opinion. From this example we can see that those who thought that the earth was not flat were initially communicating an opinion that was eventually found to be true, which shows that a fact can almost always be challenged.

Fact and Opinion are really different in the sense that Fact is something that is true and Opinion is only a belief. Fact is supported by evidence and Opinion has no backing of any evidence.

A person who makes a factual statement knows that his opinion comes from Fact. Where as a person who just makes some Opinion does not have any facts to substantiate. While Facts are true statements Opinions are not. Opinion is only a subjective statement and Fact is objective reality. Opinion can only be an emotional outburst of an individual or merely an interpretation.

Facts can be proved to be true but an Opinion can be either true or not. Opinion cannot be proved to be true. Fact is not some perception but Opinion is just a perception of the thoughts. The fact is what all believe to be true, while the opinion is believed to be true only by those who state it.

The fact is what exists and opinion is just only an opinion and nothing else. People only endorse facts as they are true. Although people may have different opinions on any subjects, they can be either endorsed or disregarded. Opinion is only a choice while fact is the worthy. Even if people think that their opinion is true and worthy, it might not be regarded by others who have different opinion on their own. Meanwhile everyone agrees when someone tells a fact.

According to the Webster’s Dictionary, the fact is “anything that is done or happened; anything actually existent; any statement strictly true; truth; reality” and opinion is something that “indicates a belief, view, sentiment, or conception.”

Opinion is only just a thought or speculation and it can lead to controversies. It may tend to dispel the truth whereas a fact is only truth and truth itself.

Facts are strong statements and opinions can be biased statements. Facts always stay back in history whereas opinions are only views that may not get into history.

When people say a fact, they can easily influence others. But an opinion may not have the force to make an influence.

People sometimes find it hard to make a distinction between a fact and an opinion. The right understanding of the difference between fact and opinion is needed to evaluate things and to make judgments.

So you're 100% confident a new CBA will be on place by 3-4-11?

I'm not so sure. Why?

DeMaurice Smith.

He didn't say that. He said there will be no lockout because the NFLPA has not been cooperative .

I would be surprised to see a lockout on March 4--maybe later, but not immediately. The owners don't have to lock players out.

The last, best offer is only a condition if they can prove the NFLPA is posturing and not negotiating. I think they will win that claim.

Smith is going to be relieved of his duties very soon, IMO

My argument for a title change. I hate that poo it annoys the fug out of me. Why not add "my uneducated opinion is:" in front of the title? Cause no one would care. Add it to another thread or at the very least post it in the NFL and stop posting for attention is so damn annoying. Or maybe even do some research and give us more than a 'contract of 4 bil' that in reality is probably thousands of pages long and you have no idea what is in that contract.

Dammit Fiz come back.

The title was misleading. However, if the bolded part is true and the Union has been screaming things like, "negotiations are for the weak," and boycotts, etc, then it will not be hard to convince a judge that the Union has avoided giving the process its due dillegence. Advantage: Owners. They will not need to lock any one out. In fact, it would give the public the appearance that they are the aggressors. This is why Goodell fails to fall into the trap of engaging in threats and public airing of opinion. He has been passive, constantly pleading for negotiations. I think he is OWNING Smith.

Lock out begins at 12:01 am on 3-4, doesn't require a loss of games.

If there is a lockout that will play right into D.Smiths hands. The owners are not going to do that. They will offer a deal then say the NFLPA will not negotiate then have a judge allow them to sign the CBA. Football will happen and the players will have the choice to either strike or not.
