I think I'd rather get killed by someone who did something better than me, as opposed to some geriatric fool who hides 3 miles across the map.

Granted I hate CoD and BF.

If he killed you with a shot from 3 miles away.. you deserve to have been shot. You must have stood still for an insane amount of time for him to line that up. So yeah, I guess he DID do something better than you.. if that were the case.

Also Sniping in Bad Company and the actual Battlefield franchise is very different. Much harder in regular Battlefield. I can shoot people across the map with snipers in Bad Company, but with all the commotion and space in Battlefield 2, it's VERY difficult to get something out of a sniper rifle without being near the action. Even with prone. The mindset of a sniper in BF2 was COMPLETELY different than it currently is in BC2. You have to choose your shots better and you can't live off of body shots.

The battlefield series also does a good job of making each kit balanced so there's really not much to worry about if you know the sniper kit's weakness. (which as of right now in BC2 is standing still in the same spot with no close range combat options other than a pistol)

Here, I think, is the last word on snipers:

When's the last time a sniper was the top ranked player in the game? Never. It never happens. If you're a sniper, you're not close enough to the action to get the valuable objective points, or points for healing, reviving, re-arming, assisting, avenging your teammates to ever be in the top spot.

So if you're getting your panties in a wad over snipers, it probably is because the same sniper has lit you up four or five times in a row, and you're butt hurt over it. So fuggin' do something about it. Go find him and knife and then teabag him. And if a sniper is lighting you up so many times that you're getting frustrated with snipers, then maybe there's something wrong with your game. Maybe you're spending just a moment too long firing before getting cover. Maybe you're running in a straight line through wide open areas. Or maybe you keep charging down the same path where a sniper has set up rather than trying to find an alternate route. I don't know, figure it out. Because the last thing I ever worry about in a game is a sniper.
