I am selling a 10 year old Ford Explorer for $2700. There is nothing wrong with it, great condition...just have to get rid of if because Mrs Hotsauce just got a new car!

Take it to Carmax and see how much they will give you. CL might work...I didnt have any luck. Cars.com was like $20 or something cheap like that.

I wanted 8k priced mine at 9k. Got my 8k.

People want deals. I got offers for 5k all the tme. I laughed and told them 8k was my basement.

I think I must have listed it way to cheap cause I got a ton of calls about it all morning and the first guy who saw it, bought it!

I had the same kind of experience on Craigslist last month. Had an older BMW that only needed a new engine. Within 5 minutes of it showing up on the posting, the guy offered me $1,000 more than I was asking for it, if I would take the ad down and give him an hour to get to my house with the cash. He came and paid me within the hour.

I had your same scenario, but with a honda accord. Even with issues it sold really fast on craigslist. i had it priced low($2500) but it was going to need work on the engine. I think for a nicer car I would have used cars.com or autotrader or something.

I have never taken a car to carmax to sell. Do they basically give you trade in value?
