So I got my dad an Iphone from Verizon since it is available. Switched him from that god awful phone carrier and was able to port over his phone number. No he does not want a droid and it isnt 4g but oh well, *** AT&T!!!

It's the same OS so I don't see how copying over all the info would be difficult. Im waitng for the Verizon 5 to come out.

u mean for 4g? With Verizon only being CDMA they would have to construct a new chipset is what I'm hearing.

im just saying it isnt a 4g phone so u cant download at 4g speeds and cant talk and be on the internet at the same time.

this is what I saw about it

Just to clarify and put any wild rumors to bed, the phone is Verizon 3G (EV-DO) only, no 4G data or GSM roaming. It's not a world phone or an AT&T + Verizon phone, it's just a Verizon phone.

Outside of Verizon connectivity, the phone is basically unchanged, although Verizon's CDMA network doesn't support simultaneous voice and data as with the GSM version.

no thats why its perfect. he wants the new flashy look of the Iphone 4 and it has double the storage. Plus his calls wont drop like it does for him with ATT. Thats good enough for him. His only stipulation was that he needed the same number.

They won't be able to get 4G right because their 3G speeds aren't what they're supposed to be. So it really doesn't matter.

it might be possible to get the LTE 4g for Verizon with the new Iphone 5 coming out but thats really it.
