these two decisions are likely to lend support to the owners.

now we'll see who really controls the players union: the few players who make a ton of money and don't want to lose any of it, or the players who either just want to play or need to play because they aren't in that top pay bracket.

Yep and that BS collusion case is gonna get tossed as well. Smith better realize real damn quick the Goverment and the courts aren't going to help them.

I don't think the govt will either. However, it is worth noting, that they have in the past. The federal courts ruled for decertification in the 90s. Also, the recent case brought against the NFL by the jersey maker? opens up loophole (NFL=32 seperate corporations) for the union to take advantage of.

Doesn't that assume that there is a lockout? What if the owners give them their best offer and make the player's strike. They they couldn't decertify right? Every player would be making their own decision to strike if they dissolved the union. They would have to keep things intact.
