Kiper takes Locker and Mallet off his big board (top 25)

To be clear, I actually prefer Mayock to Kiper. I just don't have any great hate for Kiper (though I know some do).

The draft expert I actually trusted more than any other - and who I'd still rank as the best of them - was Joel Buchsbaum from Pro Football Weekly.

His analyses were always solid and well researched. He wrote the annual PFW draft guides by himself, and often generated so much material that they had to leave some out.

Sadly, Buchsbaum died unexpectedly some years back. He was only 51, if I remember right.

Next week Kiper will have another version of his big board just to stay on ESPN and hope to remain on the payroll. Who cares what he says. The Front office is going to make the best decision based on tape, combine, character, and team needs. It is all opinons and B.S.

i'd be surprised if there are more than one or two QBs on anyone's top 25 before long. gabbert's going to have his film picked over by a couple analysts who see the flaws and the limited ceiling and will drop him and then people will start dropping off the bandwagon.

even though QBs are going to be dropping on peopl's big boards, they will still have QBs going early because so many teams have needs there that will inflate their value.

Where does Clausen rank in compared to the upcoming qbs in this draft? I mean, his "prospect" compared to their prospects? (Ignoring this last season and just going by college prospect alone)

anti-newton bias aside, had clausen stayed in college this year, he would have been the #1 QB in the draft. that's more of a statement about how bad this class is than anything. even seeing how clausen did as a rookie, i don't really see anyone in this draft that i think would beat him out of the job (except newton, but that's another argument for another thread).

Well... since you mentioned Newton he is up to #13 overall, and he hasn't even had is media day, combine, or Pro Days yet.

Also remember that this "big board" will change throughout the process and I think Newton will move up instead of down as this process continues. Keep an eye on him I'm telling you.

Many have wondered why he is having this media only workout Feb. 10. It is because he is competing and wants to be #1 QB taken. Him and his trainer feel the more people see of him the more his stock will rise.

Scouts may be annoyed with it right now but if he goes out and crushes it those same scouts will be clamoring to pick him and I think he is banking on crushing it. If he actually does remains to be seen.

it shouldn't be difficult for him to be the #1 QB on the boards. it's not like there is much competition.

1. Kiper < most things in general

2...

Gabbert, Mallett, Newton, Locker, Ponder, Kaepernick, Dalton, McElroy....

those are 8 guys I can think of at the top of my head that compile the clusterf*ck of QBs in this draft. Looking at this, its really hard to see who will do the best transitioning to the NFL and become a strong leader and player. This is why I honestly don't mind taking a shot at one of them if they are still available in the 4th. What do we have to lose if we scoop up a handful of day 1 starters before that pick.

The guy I see being able to do it in 3-5 years is Dalton if someone will bring him along like GB did Rogers. NONE are worth a first round pick

A private workout run by his dad and his personal trainer with no scouts allowed on the premises is not going to "Wow" anyone. They are only going to do stuff that they know Cam will do well. They will not challenge him at all. Plus, our HC already came out and said we value tape more than workouts in ideal conditions so if he wants to go #1 this isn't going to help.
