Kiper takes Locker and Mallet off his big board (top 25)

He looked pretty bad. I think analysts weigh those things too heavy though

i think the only one who raised his stock there was Ponder

Stanzi also struggled with inconsistencies throughout the whole week of practice and game and Dalton and Kaepernick were said to have performed awful

oh well, they still have pro days and the combine

Locker is gonna have an insane combine/pro day. I doubt he falls past the 25th pick, way too many teams need a quarterback.

Won't matter to us, though. Rivera has made clear that game tape weighs much more heavily in his mind than workout numbers.

If all teams have that philosophy, then Locker is a 2nd rounder.. at the highest. If it weren't for his junior season, then he would probably be a 4th or 5th round prospect.

Yep. It's why I am pretty confident that there is a 0% chance we take quarterback #1 overall(if we trade down, maybe, but still don't see it with this QB class.)

Some other teams take the workouts very seriously(Al Davis lolz) and Locker is a phenomenal athlete. I would never take him with a 1st rounder, but other teams might see that potential and take a chance.

Kiper is as good as anyone when it comes to predicting who goes where (not that anybody is close to perfect in that regard).

Predicting who will actually be successful in the NFL? He's about 50-50 there.

Yeah not true. He's just the most influential. I'll have Mayock, Goose and Wright all head and shoulders above him. Mayock is a guy who gets married with his own rankings while not knowing the drafting tendencies of all the teams.

Understand, when I say Kiper's as good as anyone at mocking, it's honestly because no one is really that great at it.

Draft experts in general are very good at knowing the strengths and weaknesses of particular players. When it comes to predicting the actual picks though, most mocks are lucky if they get past pick three or four before getting something wrong, and then it all tends to go downhill from there.

In fairness, sometimes it's not so much that they got something wrong as it is that some team did something stupid.

Mr Scot, honestly, even though no expert is thaaaaaat great at predicting, it would be a mistake still to lump them all in the same cathegory. Compare the stuff Mayock says on draft day with Kiper and McShay and you'll realise that they're in different worlds. Mayock can actually see how the crazy poo can develop and is generally more accurate about prospects, Kiper is rigid as hell.

Ok, back on topic lol. I'm kinda surprised that they made this move, I remember a year when there weren't any great WR's, but they still had some ranked in the 1st round out of 'positional needs'. I agree with him though, even projects have different rankings. There aren't really any QB's even with The Golden Calf of Bristol's level of promise. Why is Kiper changing his mind now though? What has changed?

PS. Kiper changes his mind and it makes football news? What kind of world are we living in? o.0
