You absolutely get used to it. The first few years after I moved down here, winter was candyass. I'd walk outside in the snow with shorts and a t-shirt and loved it, couldnt be bothered by VA's winter weather. Now, after 20+ years in almost-the-South I am acclimated to the warmer temps, and winter feels a helluva lot colder than it used to... i miss climbing out the 2nd story window to get out of the house...

sorry...was in meetings this morning!

forced draft furnace keeps the house warm...I'd day 90% of the local homes use that. Newer construction homes are using in-floor heating, which is absolutely lovely...nice warm floor, no dust/noise etc. Gas or wood fireplace.

As for outside, ya, it's all about the layers and you do honestly get used to it. Woke up this morning and it was about -7C and after the -20+ we've been having, it felt really nice out! It's when it get's down into the -30's and beyond that really sucks...even your car tires are frozen

nope...love the warm temperatures....other than hot and humid that is!!! We Canadians have learned that you put more clothes on when it's cold, less clothes when it's warm....try it!!!!

Yes, we southerners prefer the less clothes over more.

If you don't like the hot/humid, I wouldn't recommend coming to Charlotte in the summer.
