A kid I never met taught me something important today

My sister is a nurse at a St Jude's outpatient clinic. She posted this on Facebook:

..... after sticking the port of a little boy getting chemo today, I sent him to the treasure box to pick out a toy for himself. When he came back I noticed he was carrying a little beaded bracelet. He then walked over to me and said "Miss Kim, I decided to get this for you instead."

Wow. What an amazing kid. If he can be so great, I can try to be a better person.

Thats just awesome. Its really sad the things we complain about. Because usually there is someone right next door that has it so much worse. Thats a really cool story.

You don't know what I go through, I was forced to buy used games at Gamestop, you know how embarrassing that is?!?!!

Seriously though, that's an awesome story, wish that little man the best.

Children have an innate ability to care about other's feelings before their own... it's truly a shame that they grow out of that.

Yep. Children are truly honest with their feelings and thoughts. They are capable of amazing gestures of kindness (like we see here). But, they are brutally honest at other times.

It is truly gut wrenching to see and hear what these children go through at St Judes. Their strength and courage is amazing to me.

St Judes is my favorite charity.....and the one I give a lot to. The work they do for kids is incredible. I have known two families that needed their services. One of them lost their 9 month old to cancer....while the other has a 9 yo in remission. St Judes was a God Send to the families.
