Actually, Sean Payton is known for bringing in 'consultants' to help out. Most notable is Gruden during TC. Even if not on the full-time staff, he knew to pick the brains of those who are great at something. Fox would never let his ego be dismissed to bring in a consultant. Plus this gives Proehl a chance to get his feet wet coaching.
