clausen still part of "long term plan"...wait what?

Recommended Posts

Clausen's future is up to Clausen. The fact is that he will be given a chance to compete. If he earns it he will start, if he doesn't he won't. Simple as that. The only things that matter are that Rivera will give him a chance to prove he is the QB of the future, that Rivera has no ties or loyalties toward him, and that Rivera will decide what he thinks is best for the team. All the complaining and blaming is pointless to what should or will happen.

Anything Clausen gets will be earned...whether it's playing time or bench time.

People who take time to critically analyze the O-Line play will know that it wasn't elite but also not bad enough to use as a scapegoat.

Other people rely upon lols to make an argument

I was not using the oline as a scapegoat for Clausen, I was saying the Oline did not play well throughout the year and there are enough stats to back that up and it didn't matter who was at QB.

Does an inexperienced QB make a OLine look worse, of course, but, they did not put a stellar performance by any means, and certainly not to the level that Gross is paid and a few others are paid.

That's my opinion, of what I saw at the stadium, starting in preseason and carrying forward and on TV on non-home game dates.

If you saw differently and you have a differing opinion, that's ok too.

We can agree to disagree.

People are definitely getting way too caught up in the phrase "long term".

As others have said, they'll give Clausen a shot to prove he can be the guy this year, but they'll also bring in a veteran capable of starting just in case he proves less than worthy.

I don't get the consternation. To me, that's a wise plan.

What do people want us to do? Take the Gruden approach and bring in six guys hoping one of them pans out? :nonod:

Well yeah, don't you remember that is how it works in Madden?

I agree with you.
