Was Rivera our 1st choice?

I seriously doubt that we made an offer to anyone for HC without JR interviewing him and that didn't happen. All along the choice was going to be a DC ready to move up by all accounts. I do agree we might very well have looked into him as an OC. When he refused we moved on to Rivera's choice which was Chud.

But yeah I think we were looking at a guy like Rivera all along.

...

we. looked. at. him. as. offensive. line. coach. that. is. the. position. he. was. offered.

the entire OP and all the subsequent arguing is based off of some random site misunderstanding something.

No. We looked at him for the HC position. Adam changed it from offer, opportunity and chance while interviewing on Sportscenter, NFL Live and titter, but he never changed the position.

At this point I could careless......I just hope Rivera isn't a yes man...I'd really like to see a coach with some balls take this team and lead it.:mad2:

Watch my buddy Solarte interviewing Darin Gantt and tell me why exactly you would listen to this idiot? He was dead wrong on Fox's contract extension, Peppers franchised for another year, Delhomme QBing in 2010......

He is nothing more than Joe fan on TV and radio......don't know how he would be more reliable than Adam Schefer, but whatever.

Why are you wasting your time on this board then, seeing as how you have obviously never stated anything wrong? And if you have I guess that makes you an idiot like Gantt? I've also seen Gantt right on a lot of things. All I was saying was, just b/c Schefter said it doesn't make it so.

Remove your panty wad from your butt.

I'm only pointing out that Gantt doesn't know much about much and to believe that he knows anything about who was being considered for a HC position is prolly a stretch.....but to say Adam pulled this information out of his butt while being interviewed on two national TV broadcasts along with his titter quote is ok? Gotcha. Thanks.

Yeah, b/c he would never post anything incorrect.

In a Sept. 1 Twitter posting from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that appeared on ESPN.com's NFL page, a report that Byron Westbrook had been released by the Washington Redskins was incorrect. Westbrook remains with the Redskins. Link

This weekend, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Indianapolis Colts Anthony Gonzalez 're-tweaked' his injured ankle, which he hurt Week One against the Houston Texans. Today, Gonzalez is refuting that claim. In fact, he's not only refuting it, he sounds downright pissed about it.

#Colts Gonzo: "I saw that little report. I have no idea what that is. No tweaking. No nothing. I have no idea where that came from."

Adam Schefter, a U-M alumnus and NFL know-it-all for ESPN, said on a podcast today that the feeling around the league is that Harbaugh is more interested in taking over in Ann Arbor than going to the San Francisco 49ers.

Speaking about the Niners' vacancy today, Schefter said, "They'd love Jim Harbaugh from Stanford. My understanding is that it's going to be very difficult for them to get him, and I don't think he'll wind up there. The sense is that Jim Harbaugh will wind up at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, coaching the Maize and Blue.

Dude you're crazy.

Schefter never said what you thought he said ffs.

He even CONFIRMED his ORIGINAL TWITTER to be the case.

You misheard him. That's it. HE NEVER SAID THE DUDE WAS OFFERED HC HERE. How hard is this to understand??? He said A POSITION here. That POSITION was OL coach.

AGAIN. Schefter said this:

Oline spot, not HC. Why should there be confusion? They never interviewed him for HC.

It doesn't matter whether Schefter, Gannt, or whoever is a better source. Schefter never said that we offered Munchak HC, period. If he did, he clearly misspoke since he is now backtracking from it. Now let this thread die.
