nope.

it was reported this way....

"turned down three offers this year to take position with other teams which included the Carolina Panthers head coaching job"

offer

Definitions (2)1. The lowest price that any investor or dealer has declared that he/she will sell a given security or commodity for. For over-the-counter stocks, the offer is the best quoted price at which a Market Maker is willing to sell a stock. For mutual funds, the offer is the net asset value plus any sales charges. also called asked price or asking price or offering price or ask.

2. To express a desire to enter into an arrangement or contract with another party.

whatever. there was no interview. no interview = no offer.

don't believe the crap you see on BSPN.

if it wasn't reported anywhere else, the it didn't happen.

Here's the Problem: You guys are arguing over something Schefter didn't say.

This is the actual wording.

Titans OL coach Mike Munchak was in demand this off-season; he turned down three chances to leave Tennessee, including one from Carolina.

You can see the post here: (link)

That doesn't even say "offers". It says "chances to leave". Whoever reposted it (guessing Rotoworld, it sounds like their writing) changed the wording and added "head coaching" but Schefter didn't say that.

The four head coaching candidates were well known. It was also known that the Titans were willing to allow some of their assistants to walk for better offers since they were all on one-year deals (Fisher had only a year left on his contract). In all likelohood, Rivera called and asked if he'd take O-Line Coach job, but Munchak chose to stay in Tennessee. A wise decidion, given that now he might be their head coach.

Bottom Line: You all are arguing over something that was never said, and which - for that matter - there's no reason to believe.

We got the best coach available in the "3 Million and Under" bin.....

yeah man because we totally never pay coaches anything!1221!! nevermind that JR was paying 11 million to a staff that couldn't win back to back seasons to save it's job.

Gantt also had something to say:

daringantt Darin Gantt

Considering he didn't interview, not much. RT @mav123456: what do you make of the reports that say Munchak turned down Panthers HC job?

He said the following on ESPN, thus the quotes.

"Titans OL coach Munchak appears to be the favorite to become the teams next head coach. He has already turned down three offers this year to take position with other teams which included the Carolina Panthers head coaching job", per Adam Schefter

http://www.nfltraderumors.co/tag/mike-munchak/

His titter is different, but you can rewind sportscenter from yesterday if you like and listen for yourself.

He didn't even interview for the job, so I doubt he turned it down.

The twitter never mentions HC at all, so I'm inclined to think someone misheard his sportscenter take on it.

Your source is an NFL rumor site that's based in Colombia.

Their blurb on the topic linked to that exact same Twitter post from Schefter as their source, but then misinterpreted what he said.

The post from Jason LaCanfora, linked right below it, is about Munchak being the leading candidate for the Titans head coaching job.

Add in that Munchak was never even interviewed. They're not going to make an offer without an interview.

Bottom Line: The site got it wrong. There's nothing to the story.
