Kasay's not going anywhere as long as he wants to be here and JR is still the owner. With that said, if this guy is as good a punter as some are saying, then bring him in as Baker's replacement, not Kasay's. He could also do KO's until Kasay decides to hang it up, then take over FT kicker duties at that point. That way, we free up one roster spot (Lloyd), and have Kasay's replacement already on the roster when he does decide to retire.

The only question is what round do we spend a pick on a him, and what round would he go if we do not take him? While I can see his value, we have other needs. And if there is no FA prior to the draft (which seems likely), we will need to use our picks to fill definite needs since we won't know for certain who we will or can get in FA.

Stupid idea to have one player fill both roles of kicker and punter.

Atlanta tried this a few years ago with that kid named Koehner or something like that I think. Didn't work.

#1 problem with it is that the opposing team can take out one guy early in the game and ruin you. Don't even think for a minute that another team wouldn't do it in a heartbeat, especially if it was a play-off game or a win and your in type game.

I'm all for drafting the kid in the later rounds if he is there but to think that he could save us some roster spots because he can do everything is stupid.

Koenen didn't lose his PK duties cause he got hurt. He got benched cause he sucked at it. Not sure how that helps your argument.
