I keep hearing "TRADE DOWN! TRADE DOWN!"

i've always dreaded the day this franchise got the #1 pick. pussified fans are unable to handle it. conservative fanbase afraid of success who want to fill the roster with middle of the road talent.

trade Williams, who needs a record breaking RB combo when we're "good enough" without him.

trade Smith, Gettis and Lafell are "good enough."

you're all sons of a bitch.

Well what part of we don't have to ask for a boat load to move down making it much more attractive is posters missing? We all know we can't get the 'normal' amount of picks or whatever for this #1, but that doesn't mean we can't trade down a few spots and pick up a couple more draft picks.

And yes believe it or not at least 3 teams will be calling Hurney asking him what it will take. Al Davis comes to mind immediately.

I really wish it were possible to have a serious conversation with you..

once in the last ten years someone traded up to the no.1 pick (Falcons, Michael Vick) and that was for a player with such a unique skill set and talent, it took that much to get the Falcons to move up.

What about the Giants moving up to draft Eli?

It's not going to happen. I wish everyone would realize this. Just the fact that we are hoping some team falls in love with a player (no team has yet) and foolishly trades up (they would have to give up more picks, since CBA will save them money), just shows you it's not going to happen.

So why do teams trade up? There is pretty much an A+ talent there to be had...that was already an A+ talent before the combine. There's not one this year. Why do teams who have that first pick keep it? There's an A+ talent there...that was already an A+ talent before the combine. There's not one this year. Why else do they keep their first pick? No one will trade up with them. That's us.

You can argue your smokescreens all you want, you can pray to your God that some team is dumb enough and will trade, or you can hope Marty agrees to switch with someone in the top 5 for their top 5 pick and their THIRD. That will at least give us another pick in the draft. Or we can trade with the Patriots who have an extra second, which is our pick actually, making them even better and us to look like some serious chumps. Hurney doesn't want that to happen.

Learn this.

the fact is that the top level of this draft is decent in talent, but there is no one player that has universally seperated himself. We'd need to count on a team falling in love with someone.

You never know. It could happen. But it really sucks being in the position of having to hope for that :(

I don't even wanna think about it :(

at this point, there isn't one single player I want enough to be disappointed if we took someone else. I'm going to leave this in the hands of scouts and people who are paid to make the decisions and just hope that things turn out alright.

There is a decent chance our pick flops no matter who it is, so oh well.
