NFL Live just sold me on VY

If the price is right, I'd take him.

I'd much rather have a guy that is confident in himself and his play over Clausen's scared ass. I know it's the Panthers and this will never happen, but I'd take a chance on him and cut him the second he shows signs of being negative.

hey there... one point, meet a better point... yes, I'm fully racist.. I have a membership card...

/sarcasm to all dumbasses..

How many "confident" guys do you know that go off over being booed and wind up on suicide watch?

(not to mention blowing off their teammates in the locker room)

why not? He's way better than anybody we have on the roster right now

when gambling, you want the positives to out-weight the negatives... you also want to weight in how desperate you are OR how much you want to gamble..

valid point, you heard it here first.... I think. regardless, associate me with all good points, whether I make them or not..

Let's see: Go into the season with two young guys that have less than a year of real experience between them, and a vet QB with deep psychological issues, a history of behavioral issues, the belief that he deserves to be called "elite", and have that guy serving as the mentor to the younger guys?

I'll pass :nonod:

And again, can we remember that the coach who Young nearly got fired was a teammate of coach Ron Rivera?

Anybody really think Fisher's going to give Rivera a good recommendation on Young? :sosp:

(and this is what, the 50th Vince Young thread this offseason? sheesh)

Here we go with the metaphors, psychoanalysis and exaggeration again. Thank you Mr. Scot, PHD.

And who cares what that redneck has to say about VY or that he was Rivera's teammate? Why should Rivera listen to him? Just cause they knew each other once?

PS: Fish got himself fired all on his own. He was no saint either.

A team with a stable fallback plan can afford to take a chance on a guy with issues.

I seriously doubt any objective person would describe the Panthers as being in that situation.

We have a guy in whom the team has a rather big investment on roster, and likely to stay there. One major question mark at the quarterback spot is enough. Two is too much.

We need a solid, stable veteran who can step in and start if needed while also providing some leadership/mentoring to Clausen and perhaps Pike.

Young needs a team that can afford to take a chance on him but that also has a failsafe in case his issues surface again.

Our needs simply do not match.

Which means that Young was not a determining factor in many of his wins.

Since he didn't play in many games that year, probably not. At other times, I am sure that he was a determining factor. Point is that Tn is a running team. Was true whether it was Collins, Young, or Mcnair running the QB. The under 200 yards per game average is not relevant.
