Clausen fails the 26-27-60 rule...

I've heard a lot of players don't give their best effort on the test and don't finish it. I just can't believe a Notre Dame product would score so low on the Wonderlic. They are known for their high academic standards.

how do you think most good football players get to go to colleges with great football programs?

definitely not because they're a wiz in algebra or literature

it all goes back to the fact Clausen lacks just about every attritubute people look for on the NFL level.....what is the one thing about Jimmy that really stands out? He doesn't have a great arm, size, football IQ, speed/agility.....nothing stands out.

Guys like Favre or a Vinny T had rocket NFL arms. Gives them something. Big Ben had ideal NFL size. etc.

Wow this kid must have really screwed your mom. Every thread dude really??? Every thread you got 2 hate on this kid???

Too bad Brett Favre was never a good quarterback, he only had a 22

Vinny Testaverde 17

Dan Marino 15

Jim Kelly 15

Terry Bradshaw 15

Completely different generations as well. A lot has changed since those guys tested- especially the fact they called their own plays in the huddle. Think about it, with a guy holding the play sheet making the calls, a QB now has to be thinking the same thing and the same way as the guy calling those plays.

I agree, the game is much more complex now then it was when most of those guys played - so it stands to reason that you need to be more intelligent to succeed these days.

Eh, the only thing that's more complex is that teams blitz more often, so they have more protection issues, but good center can help with that anyway. Other than that, it's all about reading the safeties and the MLB, just like it was 20 years ago.

I just don't put much stock in the wonderlic because it has nothing to do with playing football, and I believe most of the players feel the same way so they don't take it that seriously.

the kid just is bad man.....and everyone starts Clausen's threads daily (I haven't started a single one). He is everyone favorite topic around here......

the NFL is hard enough when you have great physical tools (like a Jarrett). Bottom line is Clausen just doesn't have anything to be excited about or a reason to believe in him. A plays poorly and lacks the qualities most look for.......if someone gives me a reason to starting talking positvely about him I would listen. All they do is bash his teammates and claim that he really can be good. He looks to me like the kid at Notre Dame......and that ain't good.
