What makes that kind of scrutiny okay for Locker but invalid when it's applied to Newton?

So you're saying that analysts across the country all see the same thing in his game but because he's black it's obviously that reason he's ranked roughly 15th and not 1st?

First off, you're generalizing, when I was clear to say SOME. Not ALL analysts are saying Newton is a low round draft pick. Not all are saying he's a 2nd rounder. There are some saying we MIGHT just go get him, because our need at QB is the greatest in the league (based on our league worst QB play).

Some of the scrutiny against Cam is kind of ridiculous though. Everybody keeps saying that his footwork and accuracy are horrendous, but that's not true at all. His footwork and accuracy are fine when he just drops back to pass, and skips all of those ridiculous fakes they had him doing at Auburn. All of that crap put him out of position to make a good throw and sometimes he had to rush it instead of getting his feet back under him. The fact that he still made some of those throws is pretty impressive to me.

In all honesty I haven't seen one analyst say Cam Newton is going to be the #1 pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

I do not believe people are racist if they don't like Cam Newton.

However, I believe honest people who are not racists COULD be influenced by people who ARE racist and alter their analysis of the kid and his potential based on race.
