Cam Newton Public Workout

lol, Jangler...

This time, with the way the media is treating Cam... KT's kinda right. He might not be right directing his angst at us... but there is some establishment BS going on to keep his draft stock down.

Keep that conspiracy BS race crap elsewhere.

Fact is he doesn't have all the tools that transfer over to the NFL and needs serious work to be successful in the NFL, more so than some of the other guys coming out.

I can't find anything that says he couldn't make reads in college. In fact there weren't many negatives to Ben's game coming out.

There is a lot that goes into it. You don't have to read my work if you don't want, no one is forcing you. I already said I wasn't going to post my review on here because only a few people would find it worth while and all the other homers would attack it. I'll let ESPN tell you how good he is, fair?

Not really a fan of either.

In other words, your opinion means no more than mine, yet you act as if you're some kind of expert and that your word is the gospel. Hell, anybody can go to a workout and take notes if they have enough time on their hands, so that doesn't prove anything.

I don't think I ever said it did (even though it does) but I don't discourage you from sharing your opinion. I don't think I've been a dick to you at all and just talked about the content of your posts and discussed them very amicably.

I think the workout is only open to the media so not everyone can go (not sure) but seeing things first hand definitely gives a different perspective than seeing highlights later that night on ESPN.

Like I said, you don't have to read my work or agree with it, no one is forcing you.

You haven't exactly been a dick, but you most definitely act as if you are an expert. If you're with the media though, that explains everything. Media "experts" are a dime a dozen these days, and they're right at about the same clip as the rest of us.

I'm most definitely NOT with the media

A lot of those media analysts are also questioning Jake Locker's skills. Ryan Mallett's too. The question has been raised whether Locker is even worthy of a first round pick.

What makes that kind of scrutiny okay for Locker but invalid when it's applied to Newton?

Well you're sure as hell not working for the NFL either, so you're not an expert in any way. If you were, you wouldn't be spending all day on a stupid message board.

As for what you're looking for, I would imagine it's the same thing everybody else is looking for...footwork, specifically the 3,5, and 7 step drops and how he moves around in and out of the pocket, accuracy, arm strength, and throwing motion. That's about all there is to look for in a workout with no defense on the field. It's not rocket science.

Fact is, you have absolutely no proof he needs any more "work" than any other QB who's ever come out of the draft to play in the NFL. Oh, besides your own biased looks on his play that is... but that's not really fact either.

His stats don't support this attitude. The results of his team's season don't support this attitude. His coaches, and everyone that works close to him's comments don't support this attitude.

The fact is too, that many people have compared him with other black QBs unfairly, that didn't make it in the NFL, warning that he will have the same lack of success.

It's also a FACT there IS a racial stigma against Black QBs by SOME NFL fans, and by many NFL beat writers and analysts. We've actually seen it, directly displayed, on this forum.

Not a conspiracy bud. Fact.

So you're saying that analysts across the country all see the same thing in his game but because he's black it's obviously that reason he's ranked roughly 15th and not 1st?

Come on man.
