He'll just change his handle like alot of other posters. Alot of people on this site have backed themselves into a corner being absolute sure what this guy or that guy is gonna do on the next level. People are emphatic and passionate about guys not producing as NFL QBs. I dont think those people are gonna be willing to stick around and catch hell for being so wrong for the next year or so. Their cred will be shot, so I imagine some will stop posting, others will change their handles, few will admit they were wrong and baseless.

This is the attitude that makes people mad JOAT. You're not even giving him a chance, and there is no good reason for that.

You're basically saying that Cam is too dumb to learn an NFL offense, since even a blind man can see that the talent and athleticism are already there with Cam.

Trust me he'll find a way to make it someone else's fault if that's the way it plays out.

I don't have anything against Newton personally and I think he'll grow into at least a respectable NFL quarterback but there are a few people here who act like you're poo talking their wife or girlfriend if you do anything other than bow at the altar of Cam. Give it a rest, you act like you're defending Cam's honor or something.

What if Cam plays well? What if Cam can string together a "scoring drive"? What if he gives us "hope" for the future? What if he takes the heat off our owner and his involvement in labor issues and brings all of our attention back to JUST football again? What if Cam helps boost interest in our football team inside and outside of our fanbase? What if he sells alot of jerseys? I already got my $550 lined up for 2 authentics to order on draft night if we draft him.

Could he be successful? Sure, but history isn't on his side. Newton is a very athletic guy with all the tangibles, but he has a TON to learn before starting in the NFL.

We don't have time to develop another QB, we made our bed with Clausen and the idea that he was pro ready.

I will say that I have very little optimism when it comes to QB/running back out of the bs run option offense.

I don't like spread QB's, but I think the run option O should be stamped out. I want QB's who can stand in the pocket and throw, not outrun everyone.

Well, we've already got our #2, so maybe #1? He wore #13 at Florida and that # is currently available on our roster.

So we don't have time to develop a rookie QB, but we're gonna be fine with joe scrub the 34yr old veteran and JC? How does that move things along faster? Cam could easily be head and shoulders better than JC in one year, or maybe sooner. Hell, he's probably a better option than JC right now, regardless of what issues he has.
