God Im so sick of this. Its basically two sides taking what they want from scouting reports and then saying "see there! I told you I was right!". Nether side is right or wrong but nether will see the other side of the reports ether.

The only once in a decade talent to come out at QB as of late was Russell.

 seriously? that guy had tons of questions about his work ethic, football IQ, ability to pick up a pro offense or read a defense...all the guy had was a big arm and a big body and rated him highly because they thought he could learn the rest. i don't really recall anyone short of al davis saying he was once in a decade talent. he was doomed from the start.

That is funny you just described EVERY QB that has ever been drafted in the history of the NFL.

All QB's have to throw better, take better drops, learn to read the defenses. By that logic you can NEVER draft a QB. LOL.

You should be a scout. To be an NFL QB you have to play better than you did in college. Your a genius.

Peyton Manning had to improve his footwork, read defenses better, and throw better before he became Peyton Manning.

Nope. Most QBs that get drafted can improve upon those things. Newton needs to LEARN those things.

I just posted three different articled that SPECIFICALLY said the EXACT same thing Big Ben that you have said about Cam Newton. VERBATIM. Footwork, accuracy, not being under center, spread offense.

LOL. Keep it up you make me feel better about my reading comprehension.

Clausen's was for scouts and media and it wasn't on pro day. And he didn't throw at the combine

You also posted it from his sophomore year and the other one didn't work. It's been posted on here plenty of times that the only thing people questioned about Ben was the spread and his accuracy and everything was above average. Some people considered him the best QB in the draft.

You still don't get that the spread they ran were different. Newton runs a spread option, Ben just ran a spread. They are completely different.

Also, you don't see the difference between Clausen's workout for SCOUTS and media and Cam's workout for ONLY MEDIA?

No ones cares about the combine but you must perform in front of scouts. There is a question whether this will be Cam's only workout before the draft.

Really? Is that what he said TRD?

First off, lets see who Mr. George Whitfield Jr. is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Whitfield_Jr.

Wow. Impressive resume. He's worked with some real talent. I wonder if he knows Coach Rivera because of the San Diego ties? I'd have to look at the timeline... but I bet they are at least familiar with each other.

Now, lets see what George Whitfield Jr. is really saying:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/01/auburns_heisman_winner_working.html

Looks like he is planning on going to the Combine.

So TRD... I'll take Mr. Whitfield's evaluation on what he sees over your's and Mr. Scot's take.

Sounds pretty impressive to me, and that pretty much puts an end to this BS about how this was all Cecils' doing.

Let's just see how he does, and then people can either complain about it or commend him for it. Either way, there is no reason in hell to be bashing the kid for doing this, unless you have already made up your mind that you don't like him no matter what he does.

I don't know why you bolded all that crap when the only thing relevant to me is this :

"we're doing some polishing and refinement of footwork and we're tinkering with his gun barrel a little bit on how he's shooting different throws out."

Seems like his footwork needed work, which is all I've said all along. Weird that they'd also tinker with his throwing motion when he's so accurate to begin with? HMM

you make it sound like he needs to learn how to walk again. He already has okay footwork. I haven't heard anyone say he has no footwork at all, they have all said he needs to improve his footwork.

Every QB has to learn to read an NFL defense and as the article you clearly didn't read earlier he has a good grasp on the defenses already.

And he is more accurate than people give him credit for.

so what was newton doing in college? he didnt throw the ball? he didnt read at least half the field? he may not have done any drop backs from under center, but you act like hes retarded and cant learn these things. he is even working now with a personal tutor to help him. that shows that he has the work ethic to get it done. the training wont stop there either he will have coaches in the nfl too.

Yeah but every rookie QB needs work on footwork and mechanics. Hell, every veteran NFL QB still has to work on those things. You act as if Cam needs about 5 more years of coaching before he can even step on an NFL field, and that's not even close to being true.

Several people talked about his footwork and NO ONE thought he was the best QB in the draft. Eli was the clear number one QB that year.

Which is funny because several people think cam is the best QB in this years draft so he is already ahead of Ben in a lot of ways.

We've been over big ben and freeman. Neither of them had the concerns newton has, next argument please.
